If there is no fan the computer will not power up there is a safeguard to provident damage to the CPU. Sony has a excellent website were you can trouble shoot your problem, but if there is any light your power supply should be OK. Larry

What graphics card can be installed in a Sony VAIO VGC-RB30 using Windows 7?

Hi Jose,
Asus ATI Radeon HD6450 Silence 1GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI Low Profile PCI-Express Video Card. Is one of the compatible cards you can put in the system and can be sourced from

Had power outage and now my sony vaio vgcrb30 desktop will not power up to display. fan runs load and will not turn off when pushing power button.

more that likely the power supply or the motherboard were damaged.
Power Supplies are fairly inexpensive ($40 or so) so I'd replace that 1st.
If no change then failure is likely the motherboard

My computer does not power up and there is a green light that is blinking. No power to the processor.

Check to make your power supply is working properly, it should have -12vdc +12vdc -5vdc +5vdc, if the processor is not receiving the 5v the power supply is suspect.

Due to an electrical outage, desktop computer (Sony Vaio VGC-RB30), lost power and would not reboot. A small blinking green light on the back panel was the only thing happening. Is this a hard disc problem...

this usually mean the power supply went bad and is in safe mode.(so other component in the computer won't get damaged) try unplugging the computer from the wall and wait 10 minutes. If you plug it in and the green light is still flashing the power supply is the most likely thing that is wrong. you can take the power supply to a local repair shop and they can test it in a few seconds. my guess is that it is bad. Computer Turns on but nothing on monitor

The monitor detects the presence or absence of synchronization signals so your video (integrated or otherwise) isn't putting out video or sync signals. This could be because the boot isn't happening as it should or just a bad video installation.
