SOURCE: How do I change the setting on my Syncmaster

You could try pressing the auto adjust button (simply says 'Auto'), and see if that changes anything...don't know if this will work, but it is a start.

SOURCE: SYNCMASTER BM SREEN WILL NOT ACTIVATE JUST A

I tried the following options and neither worked. 1) Hitting the monitor buttons as stated only got me a "digital" message and then the monitor went black as usual. Never got to any menu options. 2) Going into Safe Mode and changing the monitor settings or downloading/installing the correct driver didn't stick once you went back to the normal startup.

I didn't have another monitor handy to swap out so I had to be a little more creative. The only solution that worked for me is re-booting (F8 during startup) into the mode "Enable VGA Mode". This allowed me to go into the normal desktop with a screen resolution of 800x600. I went online, found the driver, downloaded it to the desktop. Deleted the video driver (Device Manager), installed the downloaded version, rebooted and....no problems.

I have Windows XP. Hope that helps. :)

Not optimum mode recommended mode 1280x1024 60hz syncmaster 712 n pop up occasionly I have to shut down computer

Your video card and computer memory may not be sufficient to run in the recommended "optimum performance mode" that Samsung and Windows both suggest. Please try setting your display setting at a lower resolution such as 1080 x 760 which is still quite excellent. Otherwise you may need to buy a better video card or increase system memory to run the higher mode graphics.
Good Luck!

When i open the screen i get an indication "not optimum mode Recomended mode 1400 x 900 60 Hz but i can't find a way to adjust it!

this setting is set in windows, right click on your desktop, go to either graphic options or properties and look for a resolution slider, the more you increase the slider the higher you resolution, but smaller the graphics on the screen, if the slider wont go that far or does not have that resolution you will need to change your monitor driver. in the same window, click advanced, monitor settings, look under the driver tab. you may need to download a driver for you monitor and operating system, if its not listed.
