Toni,
Can you give me a little more information on your problem. Are you having a problem with the throttle linkage or is it a carburetor adjustment question?

305 echo pours gas out of carb. screws adjusted about 1 turn out

The only reason for fuel pouring from the carb is the inlet needle under the metering diaphram is leaking, as the machine has not done a great deal of work it could just be dirt in the seat, you need to remove the metering cover from the carb, remove the diaphram and gasket, you will them see the metering lever connected to the inlet needle, the needle has a rubber tip, clean or replace the needle and blow out the seat.

What is the spark plug gap setting for small ECHO CS3450 chain saw with new autolite plug?

0.020" should work well. Check the quality of the spark--it should be blue and snappy with the new plug. Hope this helps!

Idle to high

Make sure the carburetor was re-installed correctly as any air leak between the carburetor and cylinder will cause high engine speeds but almost no power. It can also scuff the piston/ring(s) and cylinder due to very lean lubrication from the fuel. Hope this helps!

Chainsaw starts fine, but dies mid cut?

Immediately after saw quits, while everything is still hot. Sometimes ignition modules quit working when hot.

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode.

Loosen fuel cap when it starts to die, If that fixes it it has a fuel vent problem.

If you did nothing to the carburetor adjustments, are using a fresh (3 months or less) fuel mix with the same oil/fuel ratio, and are operating at the same elevation there is a reason your saw is acting up.
It sounds as though there may be a fuel delivery problem. Check the fuel filter on the free end of a hose in fuel tank (manufacturer recommends an annual replacement). Check all fuel delivery lines especially at fittings and bends for cracks and holes. If those are good then the likely cause is internal parts of the carburetor. HTH

Page 8 is the fuel system detail. Compared to most manufacturers’ this is a novel, a good one. Use it as a guide, it doesn't look to difficult. Take extensive notes and digital photo or two may pay huge dividends. HTH

Echo model 650evl. fuel dumps through carb

Make sure the fuel tank air vent is open. If this has a Walbro brand carburetor, open the lower cover (4-screws) and check that the fulcrum lever in the body is engaged with the fuel check-valve-needle end, and also that there is a tiny spring under the fulcrum bump. Push down on the fulcrum and observe that it picks the needle up and pushes it back when pressure is released. Check the diaphragm for pliability and that it is installed next to the carburetor body with the pin side in, the thick gasket next, finally the cover. Good luck!

I have a echo cs305...will start, and run for 10 to 15 seconds

Check the fuel lines from the carburetor back to the inside of the fuel tank. There is a filter at the entry point of the length of the line within the tank that may need attention. Fish the line out with a small stiff wire that has a half-turn hook on one end. Check that all of the assembly screws (not the L and H adjustment screws) are tight on the carburetor and that the carburetor is tight to the engine. Does it have fresh fuel? Check the muffler for plugging.
