Question about Sanyo DP50747 50 in. Plasma TV

4 Answers

Have a friend who owns a 50 in Sanyo plasma tv. DP50747. Repair man came out and looked at the tv and said she needs to replace the main board and could cost between 700 and 1,000 dollars. Problem. Tv was working fine one day, the next day wouldn't work. She can hear it power up but nothing on screen or no sound. She gave 1,500 for the tv and does not want to pay nearly what she gave for it to fix it. Any easy solutions?

Mine is 3 years old and did the same thing. Mine had 10 bad capacitors on the power supply board. 1 was blown up and 9 were bulging. I replaced them or 12. Works like new again. So far.

My advice is the following
I purchased a Sanyo at Walmart 13 months ago .the main board has failed .if you buy a tV in the future you must
find out where its made( my sanyo was from Mexico).find out who repairs it Canadian Sanyo doesn't have parts ( my sanyo is being repaired by Sonic),it's been there for 2 weeks and no word yet
.Buy a guarantee and when it expires throw the tv in the garbage.
never, never buy panasonic or Sanyo (same Company) another hint is that Panasonic has joint venture on toyota, beware.
ps just throw your sanyo in the garbage.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Samsung plasma pn50c450b1d no picture no sound

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Check whether Va & Vs voltage come to the display panel, from the main power supply regulator board. If not, the SMPS board [power supply regulator board] is faulty.
