Question about Sanyo AVM-2506 TV

1 Answer

I was watching my tv (sanyo) with cable hooked to it. The cable all of a sudden went out. I tried hooking up the dvd player and the tv is no longer recognizing the cable box or dvd player. I don't know what to do. I took another tv from another room and hooked the same cable box and dvd player and viola there is a picture. But my tv just shows snow. But my tv is actually a Sanyo AVM-2503

Sound like a tuner problem. there is a resistor that goes to the tuner that could of went bad 39,000 ohms i think which should have a orange white orang strips around it and a gold. anyway there is a problem with tuner. Sanyo was good about haveing a problem with tuners in there smaller sets. If you do not know anything about how to repair you probly shoud take to a shop but the total cost might be high and not worth it in the long run. think before you jump still water runs deep.

Can we record with our sanyo drw 500 and a digital tv? If so, how do we do this?

If cable/SAT box, hook-up that box video/sound output to DVD video/sound input. If no cable/SAT box, hook-up cable from wall into antenna/cable in on DVD and tune DVD to channel wished, and hook-up DVD TV antenna out to TV antenna in. If DVD has no antenna/cable in, TV must have video/sound output. Hook to DVD video/sound input. Hope this helps.

Hooking up my DVD/VHS player to TV & Convertor box

I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red, white, yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red, white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red, white, yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red, white, yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.

You can find the manual here:

http://www.retrevo.com/search/v2/jsp/downloadPage.jsp?doc=b7a9e24543cb9cdef7c4e094fb734a9a&q=Sanyo+DWM-400

They will make you enter your email address if you want to download the manual.

I'm not sure you'll need the manual if you have a newer TV and want to hook this up the way most people do.

Just about all new televisons have a variety of video inputs. Typically you use one for your Cable box, one for your DVD (or VCR). When you wish to watch cable you "tell" your TV you want to view that input and when you want to watch the DVD player you tell the TV that's the input to use. Most Cable Box remotes are set up to control the TV so you can change the input without having to use the original TV remote. You can also, generally, change the TV input from the front panel of the TV set. If you give me the make/model of your TV I may be able to help you figure out how to switch inputs.

But back to the DVD. I downloaded the manual and this DVD can generate output in a few different formats. The easiest will probably be the jacks numbered 2 which is the Audio There are two them, one is RED, and one is WHITE, and jack number 4. This is the Video and will be YELLOW in color. I'll be the DVD player came with a cable set that has three connectors on each end. They will be colored YELLOW, RED, and WHITE.

You should simply need to plug one end of this cable set into the jacks mentioned above on the DVD player and then plug them into one of the inputs on your TV. Pay attention to which TV input you use because you'll need to select that input to watch the DVD.

If you have an older TV we will need to use a different method to hook up the DVD player.

Now for the editorial section. I'm not paid for this. I know it's a strange hobby, but I like helping when I can. If you have more questions please ask before you rate this solution. If anything I've offered here has been helpful I hope you'll rate this solution positively. About half of the solutions I've offered have never been rated. Thanks and good luck.

Hooking DVD Player to TV

go to Wal Mart and buy a cable, its the cable with a red end an yellow end and a white end. Your TV does NOT support stereo sound, so you only need the white cable for sound, the yellow is for video.
