No cold air to Fridge of Freezer; Fan works

I have a side by side 1999 Kenmore Coldspot Model # 10658562891. The fan down at the bottom runs, but the is no cold air going into the fridge or the freezer. I had the capacitor replaced last year becauce of the same problem. Is it common for it to need to be replaced so soon?

No you shouldn't have to replace it so soon. Now there are those rare times that you can get a bad capacitor but very unlikely. Is the fan working inside the freezer?

Kenmore coldspot model 77188791. Refriderator is cool but not cold. freezer works great. Why is fridge not getting cold.

Is there a fan in the refrigerator which draws cold air from freezer. If so is fan working, if fan not working may be faulty fan or thermostat. May also be blocked duct from freezer to refrigerator, only there if fan is used as above.

Kenmore model 106.59592990 freezer side not cooling. Refrigerator side works fine

open the freezer door and empty the shelves look at the bottom of the panel in the freezer where the air holes are if it frozen or iced up. thats your problem your air flow is blocked with ice. other possibility would be a fan failure.

Kenmore elite coldspot model 106.74219400 freezes in the fridge never gets above 5 or 10 degrees and it never shuts off.

there is a flap in the refrigerator side usually near or behind the light bulb the freezer side is thermostatically controlled with the compressor being controlled. On the refrigerator side the cold air comes from the freezer side. when this flap is open the refrigerator will cool continuously, Check the flap or the duct assembly
here is an illustration of the part

Kenmore side by side fridge. Green temp light flashing for fridge side, freezer side working fine. Fridge side not cooling.

possibly frosted up at the air door between the fridge and freezer, or the fan in the freezer is not pushing cold air into the fridge side, if you can not hear a fan running in the freezer when the fridge is running (compressor on) then change out the fan

My kenmore coldspot refrigerator is warm with water forming inside yet freezer is working

It could either be a fan at the back of the freezer not working or short of gas. Some fridge/freezers control the fridge section with a fan blowing the cold air down the back when required, but all evaporator coils will ice up at the start from continuously running and trying to cool the end of the coil.

Freezer too cold--refrigerator too warm

If the cold control is not adjusting the temp when you move it, that can be part of the problem.

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Bottom drawer of the refrigerator freezes the fruit.

I think the thermostat is faulty. Thus it makes the freezer extra cold. Try replacing it. Regards, Nandini.

Kenmore Elite Coldspot side by side Model # 106.57706701 Frdige warm, freezer is frozen up. Have removed back panel several times in ther freezer to defrost coils and several weeks later, same problem.

check the fan that transfers the cold air from the freezer to the fridge. thats where it comes from if you didn't know that. also check the the fan on the condenser at the bottom of the fridge. it should be blowing hot air off the condenser to facilitate the elimination of the heat from the condensing unit, just like your a/c does on the houe.

Hot to touch

there is another fan at the bottom, rear, of the refigerator. remove the bootom panel and look at the cooling fins to make sure they are not bent into the fan blades. Caefully bend the fins away from the fan. this should improve the cooling of the refrigerator and get rid of the hot spot on the rail between the refrigerator and freezer.
