Remove the signal source and power it on to see if the problem occurs without any input signal. The problem could be in the receiver and not the sub

Because even though your stereo is turned down the gain for the sub is set all the way up so it will still gain a small amount of signal. it is a flaw with some of the newer aftermarket stereos. try turning the nob until the thump stops then change the bass setting on your deck to compensate for the bass loss.

Tub makes loud thumping noise when spinning

Good morning! It's common to hear a loud thumping noise during spinning because the load (clothes) are not properly place in the tub. Please try to put the load in order & compress it down. best regards.

Thump at the time of shutoff

The amplifier in the sub as with any other amplifier has a capacitor in it. Essentially a battery that holds a charge. When you trun things off such as subs or amps with a powerstrip instead of the intended on off button, the power supply has been cut, but the capacitor is still energizing the unit. So it catches the noise in the line.

Subwoofer "thumping" w. no audio feed

You need to check your ground connection. If there is a bad ground there will be feedback to the amp and it will just sit there and loop back with the Thump, Thump, Thump sound. I had to wire my amp's ground all the way back to the negative battery terminal. It was a pain but I have never had a problem since :)
