Question about Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

The turntable was recently disconnected and moved to remporary storage, while new flooring was being installed. When I reinstalled the turntable, the red power light comes on but the turntable does not move. I installed a new belt, but it still doesn't move. Played fine before!

 MOVING
When moving your table there are a number of steps you need to take to pack your table carefully including securing the platter and tone arm, removing the needle and wrapping the lid and table in bubble wrap. Tables, lids and needles are easily damaged in transit if not secured and should be readjusted once moved.

The turntable had been moved, and this could have caused an already existing fault like a bad soldering joint popping up.

Try to hear if the motor is starting, if you hear the motor check that the belt is well in place (if not direct traction model).

If the motor dooes not start then it is a lose contact either on the motor side or on the switch side.

If the unit had not stayed on wet place, the most common damage by moving is a broken contact.

How can i use a pioneer PL-Z93 turntable with a pioneer A-717 amp?

Hi, there is no reason for the turntable not to work with your amp. This amp has 2 phono inputs. Moving magnet and moving coil. Your tt likely has a moving magnet cartridge fitted so connect via that input. Cheers John. styluscity.com

On start up the computer asks for normal start up then goes through system checks and says its deleting 93 files then shuts down and re-starts to pull up a blank screen but the mouse icons stays running...

You will need to reinstall the operating software as there is delection of the program software which could have resulted in infection of some malware or virus.
If you have the recovery disk try to use it and reinstalll.
Once program is reloaded make sure that a good antivirus is installed, keep cclearing up the cache, the remporary files, cookies and history.

Computor does not see the turntable

It is likely that the driver has been deleted. If you cannot reinstall the driver you could do a system restore. Click the start button, accessories, system tools, system restore. The computer will pick a recent date but you have an option to pick your own date. Select a date, in bold, when you know that the turntable was working and select ok. When the System restore has completed your turntable should be working again. This will remove any programs added after that date but will not affect your documents.

LP Turntable

the platter must be able to spin freely without a belt installed as shown in this video

that would be one likely cause presuming you have the correct new belt that is.

YAMAHA CD PLAYER WON'T PLAY

GG  My kids had a PlayStation 2 that did this and so did my AIWA 3 CD player.  The solution for the PlayStation was to remove the cover use alcohol and clean the lens of the laser reader.  They get dust on them and simply cannot read.  The AIWA required replacement of the laser which cost almost as much as the unit and didn't last 6 months.
