The version of windows you are installing does not match the Key on the laptop ... you cannot use the key on the laptop with a retail version of the OS ... only the origional OEM version ... obtain the OEM recovery disk from the manufacturer of the laptop

This is probably happening because your copy of Office 2003 was activated when you first installed it. Once that key is used, it expires and can't be used to activate again unless you call Microsoft and have them validate your copy of Office 2003.
The number for "Activation by Telephone" should be displayed during the first few steps of the installation of Office 2003.
You will be prompted to enter the product key on the phone, which of course will still not be valid. You will be transfered to a Microsoft representative who will help you. They might ask you for the key again just to double-check. You can tell them that you had to reinstall Windows and Office 2003 because of your computer problems. They will ask you a few more clarifying questions and will either reactivate your key or provide a new one to you.
