I would like to know the PC Operating System, is it XP or Vista ?
If this is XP there is a Print Spooler Reset which you can try Uninstalling Printer s/w may not help here
On this website you will find the FIXIT - download and run the Fixit
Follow the instructions and click on RESET PRINT SPOOLER and continue till it prompts you to restart the PC
Once the PC is restarted and you see the Desktop - Disconnect the Printer USB Cable from Printer or PC and connect it back. it will install the Printer Drivers or prompt you to insert the disk to install..
OCR stands for "optical character recognition." It is the software your scanner uses to convert a scanned image into a text file. In order to scan into Word or Notepad or any other program where you can edit text, you will need OCR software.
If your Dell 924 can use OCR, this software should be included on the CD that came with your printer. Insert the CD and run Setup or try to find a folder labeled OCR. If you can't find any OCR files on your installation disk then check the Dell website:
This isnt full proof. But you might try going onto the dell website, look and see if you can find your product on their site. theres a good chance that they may have some downloads or links that can help you.
Ok well I've had this same problem before....what I did was insert the Dell AIO 924 CDs and did the installations, after installation completes you should be able to acess the Dell All in One Center at which point you should be able to scan. This may help
