Question about Wheeler Rex Pipe Cutter No.29908
Pipe cutter is crushing the wall of the asbestoes cement pipe instead of snapping it, the wall of the wall of the pipe is not "punkey" or soft. the wheels of the chain are touching the pipe evenly ( that we can tell) yet the top of the pipe where the chain hooks to cylinder , is crushing inward. the hydraulic pumped up , does make the pipe "pop" but doesn"t create a even break???
I think you are supposed to rotate the cutter around the pipe. If this is so then use a small amount of pressure and then rotate, repeat until pipe is cut.
The cutters could be blunt in which case they must be replaced.
