I have a single channel bazooka amp and a 10'' mtx jackhammer. The amp is 2 ohm and the speaker is 4 ohm. Can I bridge by using 1 channel?

A 2 ohm stable amp should be able to be bridged to 1 ohm (consult owner's manual for bridgability), but a 4 ohm speaker is a 4 ohm speaker and would need to be parallelled with another 4 ohm speaker to provide a 2 ohm load.

NEVER mix different power amps. Depending on the ohms of your subs, sell one of the amps, up to you. The 4001 has more power, but either amp will do the job, the amp needs to see a 1 ohm load, so your subs have to be dual 2 ohms, or single 4 ohms to do this. If your subs are dual 4 ohms then you will have to run your amp at 2 ohms which would be have the power, or a half an ohm, (Not Recomended) and be at double the power. You may be able to do a competion sound off and just "Burp" the subs, but at a half an ohm, dont expect to listen to it to long before it goes into protect and shuts down.

A pair of JH4512-04's can be wired to 2 ohms if the subs themselves are paralleled. There's only one voice coil and it's 4 ohm. If wired in series, the final impedance to the amp would be 8 ohms. They cannot be wired to 1 ohm.

In bridged mode, your 4-channel amp is only stable down to 4 ohms. You can bridge 2 of the channels to provide a relatively low 200 watts RMS X 2. The best power solution for your subs would be to bridge channels 1 and 2 and wire one sub to it. Likewise, bridge channels 3 and 4 and connect the other sub. If you connect both subs in parallel, the impedance will be too low causing the amp to overheat and possible fail.

As for the settings: Low pass filter on, crossover somewhere between 80-100, input levels to match your receiver, and bass boost to your personal preference.

The 2 ohm stable rating on the amp is PER channel meaning that you could effectively hook up a 2 ohm speaker or a 2 ohm load to each channel without the amp getting f"d up-butin bridged mode it will only be 4 ohm stable. to achieve a 4 ohm load with your sub the type x wire the coils in series that will get you at 4 ohms to run in bridged mono .But you will get the **exact **same amount of power if you wire each coil to one channel of the amp as bridged mono sees the sum of your 2 ohm channels combined-Hope that helps.

I'd wire them the way you have them wired.

Each channel of the amp outputs only 100 watts into 4 ohms. That is adequate for regular full-range speakers, component speakers, mid-range drivers, and even some small subs. But it is a little low on power for most subwoofer applications.

when bridgeing an amplifier it always sees half of whatever load you have on it, so if you have a 4ohm speaker when it is bridged the amp will see 2ohms, so yes you can bridge the 4 ohm speaker

I looked up that amp, it doesn't have a listing for 2ohms x1 but it has 2 ohms x 2 and its at 250watts. For this situation, I would recommend a different amp or different subs. Right now you are getting the most you can get out of your sub/amp combo, if you only have single voice coil subs. Which is common in the mtx preloaded boxes. Either you want an mono block amp stable at 2 ohms or 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil subs. If you got the subs you would wire the voice coils in series so you could get 8 ohms then the subs in parallel so you could get 4 ohms, which would be the best for that particular amp. Good luck.

If you had 4 single voice coil speakers you can create either of those 2 ohm or 4 ohm setups. If you run 2 of them in parallel you will get the 4 ohms. If you run 4 of them in parallel you will get the 2 ohms. In parallel I mean that you connect the positives together and run them to the positive on the amp and the connect the negatives together and run them to the negative on the amp. You will bridge the amp, and if the subs are all 8 ohm subs, you can probably wire them all in parallel, if they are all 4 ohm subs, you would wire then in series.
