Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

The fan on my central heating system keeps running

I have just moved into a house with a Chronotherm IV Plus. I would like to keep the house to 22 deg when at home and let it drop down to 16 deg when away during the day and at night. I have tried to set this up and expected that when the leave time came, the system would shut off and only come on again if the temperature dropped to 16 deg. Instead the fan continues to run and blow cold air out the vents. It is like the system is trying to drop the temperature to 16 deg. I have the fan on Auto. Is there some way to stop the fan running and dropping the house temperature?

IN MOST PROGRAMMABLE STATS THERE IS A FACTORY DEFAULT PROGRAM.IT COULD BE
RUNNING IN THAT MODE.FIRST,CHANGE THE BATTERIES IN THE STAT.ALSO,THEY HAVE A
RESET BUTTON ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD.TRY THAT.AND,BY THE WAY,YOU ARE NOT SAVING
ANY MONEY BY DOING A TEMP SETBACK.THE HEAT SYSTEM WILL USE JUST AS MUCH
FUEL EVERYDAY TO RECOVER THE LOST HEAT DURING THE SETBACK PERIOD.ALSO,THE STAT COULD JUST BE BAD.

To turn the fan off, press the "fan key" until it says "auto". This will turn the fan off. When the programs scheduled, changes, the fan will go on again. You have to repeat the fan to "auto" each time the schedule changes.

Assuming you have the fan switch of your thermostat in AUTO, it sounds like a stuck Fan Relay. If the fan relay is stuck, your fan will continue to run as long as there is line voltage being fed to your unit. This relay could be an independent component or it could be an integral part of your control board. Have an experienced, qualified service technician check it out.

We have a braemar chronotherm IV plus It turns the heating on and off after aproximatly 5 minutes we have replaced the fan and had a plumber here several times each time he replaces a part now he is...

What type of heat, electric, gas or heat pump, did anyone replace the thermostat recently? Did he replace the capacitor when he replaced the motor?
It sounds like either an airflow problem or a fan or limit switch, possibly the thermostat.

My Honeywell chronotherm IV Plus thermostat intermittent problem

The Chrono Therm 3 and 4's were some of the worst products that honeywell has EVER put out. I would suggest switching to the Vision Pro 8000, please consult your local HVAC company for more information regarding the change over.

Not only are the Chronotherm IV's less than user friendly, they have a terrible failure rate. It sounds like one of the typical failures of the chronotherm IV. I suggest starting with a new thermostat.
