Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
I used my computer yesterday in an airport with their free wifi and now it won't connect to my families linksys. It recognizes the signal but won't connect. All other computers and laptops in the house connect
Do you have VISTA? If so you will need to right click on the wireless icon on the bottom right of the screen. Then you will need to repair the connection. It will ask if you want to get new IP address, click on the option to do so. This should do it.
If that doesn't work or hard to understand do this. Click on the windows icon on the bottom left of screen, click on RUN, type in CMD. This will open a window that will allow you to type commands. Type in: "ipconfig /release" HIT ENTER on the keyboard. Once the process is done running type in: "ipconfig /renew" HIT ENTER. This should do it. If you get any messages that pop up warning you about changes, just click on the option to allow.
