How do I connect the mouse?

i am assuming you have a usb mouse and a PS2 connection on the computer. If this is the case then you need a female usb to ps2 mouse adapter
So that the mouse cable plugs into the USB female connection and the male ps/2 plug end goes int othe female ps2 port on the computer.
If this is the case you have the wrong converter the chester will convert a ps/2 on the mouse or keyboard to a usb on the back of the computer.. Can you tell us what sort of mouse you are trying to connect does the end of the cable have a usb plug on it a bit like the blue usb plug in your picture.
If this is the case then you need a female usb to ps2 mouse adapter
Google it and see the difference.

Ps2 port doesn't recognize Microsoft Optical mouse

You might think about a USB hub for all your USB devices. ps2 port is more or less dedicated for mouse, which is why your mouse pointer is stuck in the middle of the screen. Go ahead and get an externally powered USB Hub to power other USB devices. To answer, ps2 for mouse needs just a mouse, not USB device.

Need directions to install

There may be a very small button, recessed on the bottom of the mouse, and one on the transceiver, which need to be pushed with the tip of a ballpoint pen. They cause the two devices to sync to each other and that makes the wireless mouse work right.
Also, be sure you have plugged the transceiver into the right socket on the back of the PC. Some require it be plugged into the keyboard socket, others into the mouse socket, and then of course, there are the ones that use a USB port. My Microsoft wireless mouse uses USB, and works like a charm.
Good luck.

I need to be able to use traditional mouse and keyboard ports on one computer and usb port on second computer can i convert the KVM-2 Corega swich to do this? This switch links my present two computers but...

When you say "traditional mouse and keyboard ports" i assume that you mean the green and purple PS/2 ports. If I am correct in my assumption then this is what you can do. You can buy PS/2 to USB converter for your mouse and keyboard. A simple google search should yield you plenty of shopping results. Just make sure that you buy PS/2 to USB converters, not USB to PS/2 converters or you'll probably get the wrong thing. Everything else should just be plug-n-play from there on out. Hope this helps.

KVM converter

Buy a usb hub and an usb extension, so that you can have 4 or 6 free usb at the front of your computer, and you can switch devices using usb rather then the mouse converter . Using the converter on mouse and keybord make easier for the plugs to slip out, and usb is better. Note some usb modem and some other device do not support usb hubs, you have to plug them straight into the free computer plug , if you have any.
