My motor burnt out on my viper baitboat how do i replace it

Very sorry I don't know anything about a Viper Sport. Is this a gas motor ( 4 cylinder or more ) or is it a electric motor. Is it inboard or outboard. Is there a brand name on the motor ? ( technically a motor is electrical and an engine is powered by fuel ) Without this info the limited number of people that can help are dealers or other owners of this type of boat. Again sorry, EEL Canada

We have a 1967 2 strok mercury 65 outboard motor. wont start cold

Wow.It sounds like some people I know.Late starters.Don,t get out of bed 'till 10 am.With all you have written, a check on the operation of the choke (cold start) would be worth looking at.As you crank the motor, squeeze the fuel bulb at the same time and see if that also may help.Hope this helps

Should twin outboard motors be installed evenly or should one be slightly higher than the other? I recently bought a 26 foot Sea Hawk with twin Honda 150s. I noticed that one motor seems to be about an...

Twin outboards should be mounted at the same level. One should be standard rotation and one should be counterrotation. The propellers should be the same pitch and size but opposite rotation.

Just check which hole on the motor mount that the top mounting bolt goes through. Should be the same one on both motors.

You may want to call the manufacture of the boat and see it there was something unique about that boat that required mounting them that way. You will need the serial number from the hull of your boat when you call.

1974 johnson outboard motor 25hp stalls when hiting high end

Not familiar with that specific motor but had similar vintage smaller HP Johnsons. From my experience it sounds like it could be that the high speed carb adjustment is too lean. What I would try is running the backing off the high speed screw 1/4 turn to 3/4 turn, then test. If works better, screw back in in 1/8 turn increments until the problem recurs, then back out 1/4 turn and leave it there.
