Yes, there was a minor short here. it may have damaged the power board. i would check the top of the capacitors for swollen caps.

Yes that wire which got loose needs resoldered [properly and main board fuse needs to be checked.if not familiar with checking the board with a meter then just call a service repair person as the cost of soldering will be very negligible.

How do i get a vcr to work without a remote

Answer #1: You can get up out of your chair walk over to your TV & VCR player and
Turn it ON then Insert a VCR Tape then Turn on the TV,Hit the Play Button
on your VCR Then go back and set in your Chair AND ENJOY the Movie.
When the Movie is Finished You do the same thing all over again Except in Reverse. I do this every time I want to watch a Movie. Answer #2:You
can go to the Electronics Store and Purchase A VCR Or DVD Player that Does Have a Remote or Just Buy a Universal Remote for about $10.00 it has all the codes for all TV's, VCR & DVD Players in the Package. I sure hope that one of these Answers is of some Help. Good Luck!

How long have you owned the tv? You have two options though your best bet is to locate your nearest authorized service center to have the tv repaired.

How to set up tv to vcr

Hook cable or antenna to in on vcr, hook either with cable from out on vcr to tv. Have tv on 3 or 4---most sets have slide switch on back of vcr.

turn both on and use vcr to change channels if you want or to play or record a movie. If not using vcr turn it off and change channels in regular fashion on the tv.

Stand by light flashing and tv remains off.

There maybe a switch in the back of your tv.... behind the cover where you LCD lamp goes.... make sure you have put the cover back on correctly... there may be a blue switch and it is touchy.... try that and if that is not the problem .... it may be time to replace your tv lamp. :) It is not hard find your band on the internett and have the mail it to you....... it is easy to install. :)

Hooking a dvd and vcr to a cable box and tv

You will have to use an audio/video cable for connecting the player to the tv. This cable consists of three wires, generally a white, a red and yellow. Yellow is for video and the other two are for audio. You will find corresponding colored sockets both behind the tv and the player, find out which is the input at the tv and output at the player. Good luck

RCA TV - Trying to hookup new dvd/vcr player to old tv with only antenna input

The input on your television is probably coaxial (for cable or an antenna) which means it needs an RF modulated signal. You can find one of those at your local department or electronics stores. Just look for an "RF Modulator" or "video-RF convertor." They're most commonly used to hook video games up to older televisions.

Now, if you've got an old VCR handy, that has an external input, it already has the RF modulator built-in.

Connecting VCR/DVD combo to TV

If that is the only input that the tv has it's still usable. Just plug the Cable TV or antenna cable into the DVD/VCR coaxial input labeled "in" (instead of the TV's) and hook one from the DVD/VCR's "out" to the "in" on the tv. Turn the TV to channel 3 or 4 (depends on DVD/VCR settings) and use the built in TV tuner on the DVD/VCR to change channels.
