Question about Braun Activator 8595 Electric Shaver

1 Answer

The shaver at times makes a whirring sound and doesn't cut properly.

I have the same problem. The cutter block is somehow failing to engage properly with the moving part (the central strip) of the "foil". If you look closely this part of the foil stops moving when it makes the whirring sound. I've played about but can't fix it myself. Very annoying!

I had same problem, replaced Motor Drive (sold by once I learned how to open shaver:
at the bottom, remove the plastic 'cap' that surrounds where the cord plugs into shaver by gently prying it off with a small screwdriver or similar object. once removed, the side grips just pull off which reveals 4 screws. remove screws and shaver will seperate into 2 halves and 'guts' simply plug into place. Reassemble in reverse.
Hope it fixes your problem.

When i step on the foot it makes a buzzing sound but doesn't do anything mbut if i turn it manually uit works.and its reading likr its good on the display.

Is the sound a buzz or a whirring sound? If it is whirring, your belt is broke, take it in and have it replaced. You might has well have it serviced at the same time (clean, oil and adjust)

Batteries for your shaver are 1.2V. If you have instaled it properly with good solder connections it sounds like there may be a problem with the board

Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the shaver is working as it should. If the hair you are attempting to shaver is longer than 1 days growth, you will need to trim it down to stubble length for the shaver to be able to cut it properly

If it normally fired up straight away, and now when you hold it down and release it only makes a whirring sound. Sounds like your starter clutch has failed.
There are little signs when this happens. Often after a successful start you will hear a small whrring sound, or you will go to start it and it will catch then release to a whirring sound.

Hand jig saw stops cutting - makes whirring noise - then restarts

Jig saws are not made to cut through aluiminum espescially that size. That is really thick and it sounds like you have worn out the motor trying to cut it. If the saws are hot. Let them cool down then proceed but like I metioned before you are putting a lot of stress on something not made to cut aluminum even with a metal cutting blade
