Samsung dvd and samsung plasma-no sound when dvd player plays
I believe I have hooked up the cables correctly but not sure why there are 2 rows labeled 1 and 2 on the back of the tv- I have the cables hooked up according to color on the back of the dvd so I believe the back of the tv is where the problem lies. Can you tell me where they go? audio input, output, have no clue. My tv keeps saying ''hdmi audio not supported'' when I play dvd.

Check the hdmi port on you tv. There are some tv's that have an HDMI port that say HDMI/DVI(its a port for an older Digital Video that required seperate cable for sound), if this is the case then you need to hook it up to a different HDMI port on the tv because that input does not carry sound(you will see red and white audio inputs next to it) or use the audio outputs(red and white) cables and plug them into the out put of DVD player to the audio inputs that correspond to that same HDMI input. cable from wall/outside to cable box in, cable box out to dvd/vcr in ...dvd/vcr out to tv...........set both tv & dvd/vcr to Ch 3......... note you will not be able to record (probably) HBO on to DVD (vcr yes)
