Question about Televison & Video

I hope you can help me.. I own a Samsung DLP TV model no. HL56A650C1F, 56". The problem I am having is that it just turns off by itself and attempts to restart itself continuously. I hear all of the normal start up sounds, the lamp comes on, the fans work, and after about 15 seconds the picture comes on and there is sound, and 5 seconds after that it shuts off, and the restart begins again. It won't stay on but for 5 seconds, then the chime sounds and it begins the start up process all by itself. The only way to stop it, is to unplug the TV. You can't stop it by pressing power on the TV or the remote. Is this a bad power supply or a bad ballast. I have been reading a lot of posts but nothing exactly like this.. Please can you help? I am pretty sure I can replace the part myself, but was wondering if you could steer me in the right direction. Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Bulb replacement type

I'd search ebay, amazon and shopjimmy.com for a replacement as that one is probably not compatible with your model. Find a user manual for your TV, they aren't hard to replace yourself

I have a Samsung HL56A650 DLP TV. The Standby/Temp and the Timer lights are blinking. It will turn on and then shut off. When it comes on the picture is fine but it only stays on for a few seconds. There...

The description sounds like a protection mode has been activated and the smoke obviously confirms this. Sounds like it will need to be inspected by a service technician and could get expensive

I have a Samsung DLP 56" It will turn off by itself. However it is not consistent all the time meaning it will stay on for hours some of the time and others it will turn off frequently.

IN the back of the tv, where you replace the bulb is a plate with 4 screws. Unscrew and take off plate. there is a little switch there that goes up and down. I can't remember if you have to tape it up or down but turn the tv on and play with that switch. I'm not a tv expert but when i had bulb replaced on my dlp this is what i had to do. So basically that liitle switch is a safety switch and it needs to be locked down or locked up. i used tape. Hope that helps.

My 56 inch Samsung DLP keeps shutting off. I have

Once before I had this same problem and FixYa gave me the solution. When you replace the lamp door, there is a switch inside so be sure the door is put in at an angle so to hold the switch up. It solved my problem after numerous repairmen missed it.
