Connect a red and white audio cable from either the TV's audio outs (if it has one) or the cable box's audio outs (it will almost definitely have one or two), and connect the cable to R/L audio in on the back of the Philips. Change the mode on the Philips to "AUX".

The surround sound isn't working. We never tried to use it with an HDTV until recently and can't get it to work. Do we need a SPECIAL cable? Any suggestions?

If you think about it, you don't even NEED a TV to access surround sound unless the TV is tuning the stations off the air and then only if it HAS facilities to export the audio. If you really get TV programming from a Cable or SAT Box THEY are legitimate high-end digital audio sources.

After considering all that THIS product has no facility to accept a true digital signal from anything external anyway. It only accepts 2-channel analog audio. The best you could hope for from the TV or Cable Box is stereo audio. Page 27. Of course, once that is conencted you COULD play around with the various DSP modes. "Surround" is not an option from the two speakers included nor does the electronics support multichannel.

How can i put my tv threw my stereo i have yellow white and red in the back of tv and in the back of the stereo i have 2 white 2 red and 2 black pls can you help me

Since we're most concerned with the stereo sound, disregard colors and read the silkscreened legends for the connectors.

However you would be better to get your TV-related audio from the cable box in the same way. TV electronics is on the lo-fi end of the quality spectrum. And its own volume control may affect the output. If the TV has a setting to make the output FIXED, select it so you can turn the TV volume down and let the real speakers do the audio job.

I would like to plug in the sound of my television set to the panasonic SC-PM08. I tryed to do that by plugging in the tulip plugs in the "aux" connections, but no sound comes out. what could be the...

You mention "tulip plugs"! are you referring to your RCA jacks in the back of your unit? That is what the 7 inputs are to the right of your speaker connections.
When you hook your "stereo TV" to your external sound unit
you need to run your cables to your aux input from your audio out jacks on the back of the TV. Once this is done you need to configure your TV and your sound unit to work with each other. You need to go into your TV settings and tell it where to send the audio to. If you hooked into the front audio output then you need to pick that selection. If you hooked into the back audio out you need to pick that selection. Once you have completed that you need to tell your sound unit where to pick the sound up at. If you plugged into the aux then put your sound unit on aux. If you have more than 1 aux pay attention to what aux your TV is coming in on and set your sound unit accordingly.

I just got a 1000 watt home system what kind of cord do i need to hook up my system to hear my speakers through my tv

You will need to connect a RCA Audio Cable (see link to image below) from an audio output jack on the rear of your receiver to the audio input jack on your TV. Be VERY careful as to keep volume down as most all TV speakers are geared to take low inputs. With your 1000w receiver, it is always tempting to crank it up and end up blowing your speakers.

Can't get video to work so bose works with tv sound

We fixed it. We had everything hooked up right, but - stupid us - we didn't turn the sound off on the TV. Once I turned the TV's sound setting to off, I flipped the speaker switch a few times on the Bose remote, then turned up the volume on the Bose and it worked.

Surround Sound using the video feature

You will not get 'surround sound' from this set only stereo sound. The Video/Aux jack at the back of the unit is an input terminal. You can connect the audio part of your TV(if it has a Line Out jack), dvd player or video game console to this input to get the sound through the stereo system. Use a male-to-male RCA cable to make the connection, they are color coded (Red and White). Press the "Video/Aux"  button to select the input terminal.
