How long has this been going on?
What email program are you using?
Are you running out of storage space on your hard drive?
Have you scanned your system for malware?
If you have access to an internet connected computer with a cd burner, then go to this website: www.malwarebytes.org
and download their anti-malware program, burn it to a cd, then install it on your computer and run a full scan of your system...fix any problems it detects.
Then report back with comments to this post and let me know the results...

Why can I not send attaxchment

This issue may occur if the Outlook registry key is corrupted. When other programs try to use the Outlook Simple MAPI interface, they cannot retrieve the required information from the registry.

You must first remove the corrupted Outlook registry key, and then perform a Detect and Repair operation to have Outlook rebuild the key. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
  4. Select the subkey, and then press DELETE.
  5. Click Yes.
  6. Quit Registry Editor.
  7. Start Outlook.
  8. On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics.
  9. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair.
Important: Above section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hello and welcome to FixYa,

This is because you dont have MS Office installed on your computer or if you do have MS Office the files are not associated with opening with Office.

PPS stands for PowerPoint SlideShow or can be found as PPT (PowerPoint Template) or PPTX for early versions of Office 2007 and 2010.

Please install either Microsoft Office (needs to be bought) on your computer or (if you only need to view this file) install PowerPoint Viewer 2007 or 2010 (free to download HERE).

If this is a problem directly related to Hotmail inbox or the specific email please check your email settings in hotmail or gmail account for filetypes.

Also do regular powerpoint or ms office files open if you download them from the attachments in the email?

Regards from FixYa.

Thanks.

I got a message like , your resume has been selected for new plant.your offer letter attached by link. kindly download your letter by www.ifile.it/kd8uhrw. so please help me

This is a spam type of email and is used as a means to get personal information from in efforts to possibly commit identity theft or other things. I recommend to never open these emails or click on any links to them and just delete them especially if you do recognize the source.

When receiving an email with attachment after downloading attachment it will not stay open

Right click the file and extract all, most likely if it has an attachment its a .zip file and it needs to be extracted to associate itself with the proper program. This is one of many solutions ,would need more details to tell you anymore such as operating system, email client, web browser, etc.If the file you are trying to open is a .pps file, for example, then you would need to download the power point viewer to view it,power point is not a default program on windows operating systems.Check and see what the extension is on the file eg.(such as).exe,.zip,.jpg,etc.ok hope this helps good luck

Why does my computer take forever to open a video

Large emails or Emails with large attachments (even Photos) that are automatically opened as well as Internet services that send large amount of data (eg. Youtube, Netflix) are restricted by the performance of your Network connection and the Data transfer rates allowed by the information provider and any local controlling softwares (such as Netlimiter & Firewalls)..
Hope it helps explained your 'slow' performance.

Little guy with hearts is in every new email message I create

Go to your add/remove and see if you can spot an app you didn't install.
If you don't see anything odd, may need to run a virus scan.
If this thing is being attached to your emails that's a bad thing.
You can go to this website, it's free and you don't need to download.
Restart the computer, tap F8 until you get to a menu.
Select "Safe Mode with networking".
Run the program.
Restart the computer when it's done, do it again.
Let me know if this guy pops up again.

Sending emails

You have to shrink the picture down and zip it up.

Outlook

There are a number of posible reasons for this.

1) The email could have contained a virus which has stopped your computer from running correctly.

2) Your computer cannot download the pictures because the files are too large. Outlook may appear to jam but you may need to give it time for the pictures to download.

3) Your antivirus software may be stopping the email fro being downloaded.

Do you know who sent the photos?
Are they from a trusted source?

If the files are very large you will need to wait for Outlook Express to download them. Depending on your connection speed and server this may take some time, so be patient.

Do you have access to your email via a web address? Some people use this when they are away from home and want to receive their email. If you can access your email via a web address, I would suggest that you delete this particular email.
