Canon mx700 fax report problems

My settings are to print a tx report after each fax. I send the fax, the lcd says it transmitted, then the lcd flashes "Memory Reception Mode" and "Waiting for Report Output". If you try to print a memory report it says it has nothing in memory. Did it transmit and how do I get the confirmation report to print? Please help. Thank you.

After emailing canon support, the answer is this: 1) the fax paper size must be "letter" - 8.5-11". 2) reset all settings through settings menu. the fax will then print reports (and also every report that was not printed before).

We are getting a message "waiting on report" when trying to fax

I experienced this problem when "Fax Setting -> TX Setting -> Print Report" is configured before you send out the fax.

After your Fax was sent, and the message "Waiting for report" appear forever and does not leave.

It is because your INK Level is Low and your have set "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink OFF", and so the report will not be printed out due to ink level is low.

Solution:
Configure "Fax Setting -> RX Setting -> Auto Print ON -> Print when no ink to ON", and the report will be printed out immediately, the message disappear.

How do I print a transmittal report after each fax sent?

Press the Menu button; use the right or left arrows to select device settings. Use the up or down arrows to select Fax Settings. Then TX settings.
Select TX report, then select to print a transmission report after each transmission, then select attach TX image. (This will attach the first page of the fax).
TX report Sets whether to print a transmission report after each transmission.
When Print error only or Print for each TX is selected, specify the following.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Canon Pixma MX700

I had the same problem. Solution? I will sound stupid, but it worked for me. Check every phone cable. Unplug and replug it. I solved my problem by making my connections simpler. I think, one of my splitter was faulty.

I still not understand why. I tried to fax without any phones plug-on and it was not working neither.

I'm with "videotron.ca" for my phone line and I unplugged the line from the modem too, then replug it. Maybe it was just that!

A lot of people seem to have this problem. I called Canon twice and they made me change some setting in my printer but their solutions was not working. I put all the setting back to what they was and it still working now.

Report of fax

Hey renzo737 - Follow these steps to have your machine print a report after you send each fax:

1)Hit the Fax button, then the Menu button.
2)Press the < and > buttons to scroll until you reach
TX Settings. Hit OK.
3)Use the < and > buttons to scroll until you reach TX REPORT.
Then hit ok.
4)First you want ATTACH TX IMAGE and then you want
PRNT FOR EACH TX.(it may also say as TX REPORT)

On your machine under TX report it may just say PRINT ERROR ONLY, which means only print if there's an error, or the PRNT FOR EACH TX. You'll find it easily. You want the print for each tx option. This will print a report and give confirmation that your fax went through after each fax. If you have any problems understandind this or need more help just give a shout.
If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. Like I said if you need more help just add a comment and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks and have a good one.

Jeff

MP830 Canon Faxing problem

Display the fax menu and then select Print Report\List and print the Users Data List. Check the setting of the ECM TX setting. If this is ON turn it OFF. This is the Error Correction Mode setting, probability is the fax you are sending to is not ECM compatible. The MP830 is suppose to automatically send in standard mode if receiving machine is not ECM compatible however I am not sure how well this works. Turn the ECM setting off by displaying the Fax Menu and then select Maintenance\Settings, Device Settings, Fax Settings, TX settings, ECM TX.

Repeated Fax TX report printing

Solution #3 solved it for me. The report kept printing over and over, so I used the menus (roughly) mentioned in Soluton #3 by guest.

My problem was the printer was trying to print the TX Error Report with the image attached. That made the report too big for standard sized paper, so the machine kept telling me to check the paper size, and I'd hit 'OK', and that made the machine try to print the report again, for it continued to think it had not printed a complete report.

Here's what I did...

Go to: Fax Menu
Arrow right ( >) to Maintenance/Settings, hit, 'OK'
Arrow right to (>) to Device Settings, hit 'OK',
Fax Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Report, OK
Select 'Print error only', hit 'OK',
Attach TX image, Select 'NO', hit 'OK"

With the instruction to not attach the TX image, it will print out the error report without the TX image, the report will fit on the paper, and it will clear this problem.

Good luck!
