Question about Delta Model 300: Classic Single Handle Kitchen Faucet - Chrome

1 Answer

Guess what? The unit in question is a Delta washerless kitchen faucet, I took the screen/difuser tip off the outlet pipe to clean it and can't get it back so that the screen-and-difuser insert will stay in the 'tap cap' The way I can make them fit, they are pushed out by the first run of water. In what order and from which end do I replace the parts; one black shouldered washer, two screens in a brown plastic holder and a shouldered round shim-like piece into which fits the plastic perforated spray head " I cannot read the model no., but assume it is just the std type Thank you in advance. gpbreck@shaw.ca

Instead of the headache, why don't you just replace the difuser? These are relatively inexpensive at home depot and are a simple thread in.

check the angle stop under sink as sometimes the washer gets lodged in the orifice to stop..make sure water is off to house before removing handle to stop...check the hose...then the stem and seat to faucet itself.

How do I disconnect quick connect hose from a Delta kitchen faucet

Solution 1 from Rico did work but it required the use of pliers in each hand to apply enough pressure to hold the top part in place and to pull on the bottom part down. It took several attempts but it came apart.

I Have a single handle peerless kitchen faucet that's making a shrill noise, and the water pressure is very weak.

Possible causes:
1. you have a air pocket t in the heated water system. You will need to bleed the system.
2. As to pressure, you may have knick in pipe somewhere due to worned plastic pipe.

Sediment from bladder entered pipes, clogging some faucets, 'gritty feel' when turning faucets on and off. Only drizzle of water comes out. How do I clean out?

Remove all the faucet aerators and flush the system for at least 2-3 minutes. Try not to turn the faucet valves off too hard until you flush the system so you don't embed grit into any faucet washers or washerless valves.

Clean the debris from all aerators. Flush all toilets at least 10 times and check for any debris in the toilet tanks. Clean out as needed.

If you have outdoor spigots, flush those as well.

You could consider adding an inlet strainer to your water supply piping, especially if you are on a well, private or public.

After a recent water main break, our Delta Model 473 kitchen faucet now has very low water pressure. It also continues to flow for a few seconds after turning it off. I tried unscrewing the screen and...

Check the screen at the hose connection under the sink. Check the hoses for any large debris in them. Verify that the water pressure coming from the water outlets under the sink is good. There is obviously a restriction somewhere...you just need to locate it.

Delta kitchen faucet mixed spray...diverter problem???

No a pull out sprayer problem is different.

First try this. Pull out the sprayer and remove from hose by turning nut that connects sprayer to hose. If you can get someone to help you it would be nice since the hose can go down into the faucet and might be trouble to retrieve. Look in the connection on the sprayer where the hose connects and look at the screen. If the screen is plugged or dirty clean and reinsert. If you can't clean it replace it. If this isn't working go to the next suggestion below.

In the spray head of the faucet there is a build up of deposits from use and or water hardness. Here is the link to the Delta site.

If you find you faucet model order a new spray head. Once these go bad they usually need replacing.

DELTA MODEL 470-WH LOW WATER FLOW AT KITCHEN FAUCET

This could be a couple of things.

  1. First remove the aerator from the wand and make sure you have plenty of flow with it off.
  2. If there is flow clean or replace the aerator.
  3. Remove the wand and look between the hose connection and the wand there should be a screen between them. Remove the screen and clean or replace.
  4. Make sure hose is kinking under the sink.
If you need a diagram of the faucet with part numbers here is the link:
