I send those frequently for repair. Please visit this site at Hp.com check your serial number and I bet your laptop will be there. The warranty was extended for these models and your laptop will be fixed without any cost.

Laptop web cam not working

1. Uninstall the driver the webcam
2. Reinstall the driver for the web cam

If the problem persists, buy an external web cam and use it as opposed to trying to fix the one that is integrated in it.

OR

If you are still in warranty try to get manufacturer to fix this problem.

Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam

Try to locate the camera driver and do a update also might be a fix download for the Crystal Eye Cam through Acer Or another download site. Another idea would be to get a driver Program which checks all your drivers on the main items like keyboard, web cam , mouse, monitor, graphics the one i use is DriverDetective works great!

Acer 4520 crystal eye web cam

This is a common propblem. There is a fix. Google Acer web cam problems and read some of the forums. They give several links to fix the problem, you may have to try several before finding the right one. Don't worry if it says the driver is for a different model, I had 5000 series here at my shop a few weeks ago and the 9300 model driver fixed the problem.
