Hello Chuck Johnson - Thank you for your post! Do you hear the auger motor running when calling for ice? If you do not, the dispenser may be jammed or the refrigerator has a faulty auger motor. I suggest checking the following: clear any ice that is blocking the ice chute, remove any frozen ice or obstructions, verify that the water valve or fill tube is not frozen. Should this be ineffective please visit the manufacturer website to find a Service Provider in your area that will be able to further assist you in the diagnosis of your refrigerator.
SOURCE: Ice maker
The
refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one
for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that
the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be
the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not
call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check
the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking
more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or
thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

if you hear a click when the actuator is depressed the swt is ok remove ice bin and try rotating auger mtr by hand if you can't the auger motor is frozen, you can remove the whole auger asm and let it thaw out and dry out for a few days

You guys are great. I just pushed down on the lever in the back and once again I have cubed ice!! Thank you!

Push the lever to dispense ice and listen for a small click sound,(the micro switch). If you hear a click you will have to determine if there is a broken wire to the dispenser motor or if the motor itself is defective, This will not be a visual diagnosis unless you fine a broken wire in the hinge area.

Have same or similar problem. MY problem turns out to be that the Auger turns fine, but there is a little metal blade that attaches to the end of the auger and transfers the spin action into this auger "hopper" (for lack of a better term) which actually accepts the ice that has been moved from the back of the ice bucket by the metal auger and then dispenses the ice into the hopper which falls into the glass. the issue is one of crappy design. It turns out that this little blade has a rectangular opening in the middle that the rectangular end of the auger fits into. If this rectangle opening gets stripped (as mine has done, and ALL are likely to do) then the auger spins, the ice is moved forward but none are picked up by the hopper, and none (or very few) fall into the glass.
Everyone should check to see if this is the case. If so you may need to order a new blade, or a new auger, or a new refrigerator.
Good Luck!
