I want to record audio on Lenovo ThinkPad T430. I can find only Microphone Input device. I want to record from the sound card (like if I play MP3 file on my computer and I want to record the sound that goes to the speakers). In Lenovo T60 there was a "Stereo Mix" device that could be used. In T430 I can not find anything
If you can play a MP3 music file already, why would you want to record it?
If you want to convert the MP3 file to a WAV file all you need to is use a conversion program.

May be I did not explain myself correctly. I listen to streaming audio and I want to record whatever I can hear in the speakers. The Lenovo T430 with Win7 allows me to record only from Microphone. It does not show Stereo Mix or any other option like we had in Lenovo T60 with XP. Recording from microphone is not acceptable option in terms of quality etc plus it picks up the noise from the environment.
You need a recording program. Check pout these WEB sites. http://www.nch.com.au/soundtap/index.htm... http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq...
NCH works fine. It does not request me to select input device (e.g. Stereo Mix). Many Thanks.

It's easy to record from your laptop's sound card. You only need a sound recorder program installed on your computer. Here's a detailed tutorial for you.

It sounds like you just need to choose the default audi input device. You can do this by going to the control panel.
Start Menu > Control Panel > Sound

Once you get there just go to the recordings tab, select the device you want to use and hit "Set Default" after that you can hit properties and it should show you which jake it pertains too.

Hi, try to boot into safemode, turn your system on then keep on tapping F8 to get the windows advance Menu screen, select safemode.
In the safemode windows go to Control panel and check your power options, you will see what time frame your system has for the LCD when turning off.
If this does not fix the issue, try booting into safemode with networking for you to be able to go online in safemode try updating your BIOS from your Manufacturers Website, Updating your bios may fix the issue.
