I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a Abit BX6 mainboard that
doesn't detect my new 40GB quantum lct20 U/ATA 100 7200rpm.
The abit web page mentioned that this problem exist and the latest bios
update would fix it but I tried it and had no luck. Then I went to Quantum
web site and they had an utility that would make HDD from U/ATA 100 to U/ATA
33 so that the bios could recognise the HDD but that didn't work also.
I went to Award web site and apparently there is a problem with award bios
dated before 10/28/98 and mentiones that need to contact your manufacturer
for bios update. I have sent many email to Abit but haven't had any
responses.
I would appreciate if anyone could help me.
