Question about IBM ThinkPad T30 2366 Notebook
Own an IBM ThinkPad T30, installed an update but computer crashed. Chose to start Windows Normally and got "Setup was interrupted. Restoring prior configuration" on screen which takes a long time to load. And then an error occurs. Also took another path that led to Recovery Program 5.7 but don't want to clear hard drive and start again. Any way to get to the normal Windows screen to use the computer without losing information?
A few ways to try and eliminate.
Upon startup F8 for safe mode: Last Know Configuraton
Hit F8 for safe mode. Go into accessories>system tools>system restore
Doesn't work then: need Windows CD setup. Let it run and hit R for Recovery Console. At the DOS prompt type FIXMBR or FIXBOOT.
