SOURCE: Film loading problem Minolta Maxxum 430SI RZ

not solution, but a suggestion, something to look for/try.
i think it is trying to tighten it and take up the slack in the spool. there might be little red dots or something like that on the inside when you open it up. you are supposed to have the film go to a certain spot before you close it. normally, the film is sticking out the right length, but you might have to pull it out extra first. you might also have to tuck the end of the film behind a roller or in front of a roller before you close it. look for really tiny diagrams inside the camera, or maybe just tiny arrows indicating which way the film is supposed to wind. good luck with your class!

SOURCE: Film won't load on Minolta 400si Maxxum Camera

My daughter took the camera to her photography teacher he was able to load the film by wrapping more film around the roller. It's not as easy to load as my Canon. I thought we had put plenty of film around it already. Oh well, it's working anyway.

SOURCE: how do i replace internal battery on the minolta

Unscrew battery compartment on the right grip, and remove the battery holder (AAA's in most Maxxum 7000's) In the compartment you should see a silver colored metal plate, held on by 6 small phillips screws. Unscrew these, and carefully lift the plate, and move it aside (there's a tiny wire soldered inside the plate, so don't break it off).

Inside there should be a CR2016 lithium button battery. Replace it, and reassemble in reverse order.
NOTE: This probably won't fix any issues regarding the removal of the film, as the 2016 is just a memory backup battery for when the main batteries are removed.

to remove the film, install fresh main batteries, turn on the camera via the "Lock" switch and rewind the film. on the back of the camera, just behind the LCD screen, above the film door, you will see a grey button marked "R". Push and hold it, while sliding the gray slide switch immediately to the left of it to the left. The film should now rewind.

When the film is done rewinding, open the back via the sliding latch on the left side of the body with the gray button in the middle. Push the button, while sliding the latch down.

To insert film, place the cartridge in the same place and orientation as the old roll, and pull the leader over to the red dot on the bottom right of the film compartment, and close the back. it should advance to the first frame if done correctly, or blink 0 if done wrong.

SOURCE: Maxxum 5 broken battery door

I use US Camera on the internet.  They have a huge inventory of parts and work pretty well with the do-it-yourselfer. For the Maxxum 5: www.uscamera.com/1min003.htm

Where do you insert a sim card into a minolta maxxum 5 camera

Cameras, especially film cameras, do not use "SIM" cards. There were some models of Minolta film cameras that used exposure cards for auto-settings but only cellular phones and devices with cellular interfaces (iPads) use SIM cards. Here's a copy of the Maxxum 5 manual if that helps.

I just bought a Minolta maxxum QTsi from a lady and it had no manual with it, I can't figure out how to load the film. Can you take me step by step on how to load the film and how the camera works when...

Hi, I've found the instruction manual online for you, http://www.mediacollege.com/equipment/manual/konica-minolta/camera/maxxum-qtsi.pdf that way you have it for future reference. For loading film you open up the back of the camera and make sure that the end of the roll of film is aligned with a red mark and then you close the back. For taking pictures you press the shutter button half way in order for it to focus, when the image you want is framed you press the shutter button the entire way and it'll take the photo.

Blinking 0 on my minolta maxxum 5 after I loaded the film. I cant take any pics.

It did not load your film. open the back, be sure you have the film pulled across the opening to the far side of the take-up spool, and close the back again. It should make noise as it winds the film, then number 1 should appear in the top window. If it does not make noise and advance film, you likely need the film advance motor replaced. Every time you close the back, it will try to advance film.
The motor itself can die and those plastic gears can break teeth. If repositioning the film does not work, your maxxum needs a trip to the repair shop.

The film wont advance

remove and reinsert battery.
be sure you pulled the film all the way across the back.
be sure the door latches.
be sure camera is on.
try the rewind button, it may think it has film in it, ready to rewind.
Still no good? film advance motor may be dead. If so, it needs repair. Lucky for you, the Maxxum 50 goes for cheap on Ebay. You can get another at a good price.

Is the Minolta Maxxum 7000 capable of using infrared film?

goneoutthewi,

once the shutter is closed or the shutter open and the mirror is up no light strikes the film except the image. don't forget to use the red markings on the lens as infra-red focuses on a different plane than visible light.
