Water heater is not firing up

Call for Service. The timer is fine, the boiler has failed. I presume it is gas fired, which means that only gas registered service techs can work on it.

No gas pressure will not be affected by your meter. its a heat sensor problem .

If this is in a RV the propane monitoring valve may require more gas flow to turn on than the water heater requires. A central heating system requires substantial gas flow so when the monitoring valve opens to fire the central heating, there is enough gas flow to also fire the water heater.

your boiler needs a minimum gas pressure of 16 mb to light successfully. if your gas pipe has been extended it has to be able to flow enough gas. it may need upgrading to 28mm for even as little as a metre from the gas meter. if your central heating works ok when the fire is off then this is your problem

If you have no codes then I would say that the problem is not within the boiler. It would be because the boiler is not getting signal to fire.
Open the flip down lid at the control module and find the low voltage terminal strip. Jumper #1 and #2 If the boiler starts then you have a problem outside the boiler. If not then it is inside.

Now if it is inside your boiler then start checking out the controller settings. The warm weather shutdown may be active, or the temperature limita are such that it will not call for heat.
Programming those MCBA controllers can be abit tricky and sometimes a power surge can mess iwththier brain... :-)

back boiler run from a gas fire? check the instructions to operate the gas heat to the back boiler not just the fire
I presume that this a fully pumped system - air lock doubtful There maybe on/off valves on the pipes to and from the back boiler [situate close to cylinder] make sure they are on - anticlockwise turn
or there could be a blockage in the outlet from header tank usually in the loft. or If there is no water in it maybe the mains cold feed it is off.
Note if no water in it DO NOT USE the back boiler

what size of gas line is going into boiler and water heater? is it black iron ? natural gas or propane? have you checked gas pressure at water heater and furnace ? if they work fine individually then you have a problem with incoming gas pressure. Call gas company and ask them if they would come out and check gas pressure.

hi sounds as though the system is sludged up & needs power flushing.the reason is that the water cannot circulate so over heats & pumps into the header tank.
expect to pay approx 350 400 pounds to have it properly cleansed, it will restore the system efficiency.
The other area worth considering is that it could be a faulty pump os that when th eboiler fires it cannot circulate so in turn expands & vents into the tank.

My advise is to arrange for a corgi engineer to sort it out for you.

This is your problem!
When you are switching on the boiler it ignites for 8 to 10 seconds, then it cuts off and the lock out lamp comes on. Pressing the reset button or turning on the hot water tap has the same effect.
