Is there an SSID printed on the bottom panel of your router?

do you know your SSID (network name), and encryption? Have you changed them from the default settings?

    • Is your wireless PCI card a wireless B, G, or N card?

    • Did you set up the wireless configuration for your D-Link router to only broadcast in "G" or "B"?

One thing you might try is resetting your router to factory defaults and seeing if your other PCs, that can't connect, can at that point. If you can access your router, you should have an option somewhere to save a configuration file. Be sure when saving and loading this file, however, you do it from a PC that's plugged into the router and not wirelessly connected as you can lose connection and lose configuration information.

Laptop running 0n win 7 wont connect to router

1. you will have to designate the laptop or allow it to connect by entering it into the 3com router.
2. try connecting to the router via ethernet cord (that is connecting with a physical straight through cord) that came with the router.
If connected with this then you will have to go into the router via the IP set 192.168..0.1 depending on the router ip for loging in.
2. Go to the "wireless setup" and enter your MAC address for the laptop in the permissions list in the router. Instructions on how to do this is at the manufacturers site. Step by step.
3. Do the following step if instructions not found.
1.Log into router
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP adresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

Cannot connect laptop or ipod touch to Thompson TG585 wireless router. We only have pin and code numbers on the bottom of the router but nothing entered works

Forget the PIN that you need is the WEP which should also be on the barcode label.
Does your Thomson have a round button on the front with what looks like transmitter symbol?
If so, try pressing that first before you start typing in the WEP code.

2. Configure or change the laptop ehternet adaptor setting to "Obtain IP address automatically.
