We need to know what motherboard brand/model your E-Machines has installed. If the motherboard is still the default one from E-Machines, you may need to contact them to determin the board brand/model and get detailed specs for this board.

Look for orange 10 pins. pin1=Red (HDD LED) Pin2=White (HDD LED). pin3=NC, pin4=NC, pin5=NC. Next column pin6=NC, pin7=NC, pin8=Black (Power SW) pin9=White (Power SW) pin10=NC. Right next to 3 black pins are pin1=Green (Power LED), pin2=White (Power LED).

Usually it is in very small print right on the motherboard next to the pins, use a flashlight and/or a magnifier to see what order the pins go in. The hard drive light will say HDD, power will say PWR, etc.

Hello Sir, hi, the wires on your casing are usually labeled, like in the picture below: cyberdyers_0.jpg

the power led green wire goes to the power led + and the white goes to the - . Now the HDD + goes to the HDD + the red wire, power switch can be interchange, same as the reset switch.

Emachine model W2888, wiring

this is someone more suited for a trained technician, but you can look at the motherboard, where the pins were, and you should see markings like pwr +, pwr -, led +, led -, hdd_led, etc, you will also see markings on the cords that connect to the motherboard, with the same words, pwr+, pwr-, etc, you can try matching those up..

GA-M57SLI-S4 wont power up !!! what to do !

Hi check the cables from the case to the mother board. They should be marked and the manual that came with the board ,this show you where to connect them on board The std markings are HDD [red led] PWR S [powerswitch] RSW [reset switch] PWR LED [case power light] in most cases check to see if this is correctly connected
To test if there is no fault in the board or power pack. first visualy check the board to see if it shows a red led light when the power is turned on, if not the problem is in the power pack or the wall outlet.
second if the light is on, bridge the pins marked pwr switch on the board with a screw driver and this should start the computer, check the processor and ram if not you have a faulty board.
