Question about RCA 35V432T 35" TV
My friend has a RCA 35V432T 35" TV and during a recent move to a new house it was shipped laying flat on its screen on a couch. The problem is somebody used it for a step ladder! When he turns it on the power light comes on but the screen is black and he noticed that a vent on the back cover was smashed in. So I took the back off of it thinking maybe one of the circle of solder spots on the circuit board on the back of the tube had broken like I have fixed on pc monitors before. It wasn't very hard to see why it wasn't working. That pcb (crt itc008 2127952A) on the end of the tube was broken into pieces right around those solder joints that are in a circle. I checked the fuse and it was still good so I wonder if somehow nothig shorted when it was first turned on with the crunched board? So I guess the next step is to order a new one and solder it in. Anybody got any idea what's the chances it will work again? Any suggestions or comments as to how to go about fixing this would be great.
chassis # ITC008MYN
Thanks in advance
If the tub is not broke at the neck where the crt plugs on and the pins are all still there the there is a good chance that it will still work. You realey wont know untill you try and see. some shops might have a used crt board if they have had a tv come in struck by lighting and saved the board for what parts that was still good.I know i do that a lot. Dont think I got one for a 35 inch though.
