Take the camera to a digital camera repair shop. I suggest you get a quote, then you can decide whether to get it repaired or buy a new camera.

SOURCE: olympus sp 350

Are you sure you finalized the firmware upgrade procedure according to the instructions? This sounds a little like you pulled the plug a little too soon... Have you done it according to these instructions: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/OMfirm.asp And kept the camera connected until the update was 100 % complete? If you did everything right, try reseting the camera - take the batteries out for the day, and see if it helps. if you're back to step one(the reason you did the upgrade), try the firmware upgrade again. If still it doesn't work contact olympus, and I hope you have a valid warranty. Good luck

SOURCE: CANON POWERSHOT A300

If it's a short, not much that you can do other than try to track down the short location with a voltmeter. But I do have doubts that a short is causing this. The A300 is a notoriously power hungry camera. It's the first digital Canon to use two AA batteries. It takes great pictures, but unfortunately Canon didn't spend much time focusing on battery efficiency in getting the new two battery design out the door. As a work-around, try taking pictures by shutting off the display (press the DISP button) and using the optical viewfinder. Also the camera works best with high power rechargeable NiMH batteries rated 2500mah or better. Very inexpensive NiMH batteries are generally weak, and if no rating is shown on the package or battery, should be avoided.

SOURCE: camera that won't respond to button-pushing, yet lights up

Does this camera have a memory card? If it does, try removing it and than try turning the camera on. If this by chance does not work, it may need to be taken in for firmware repair.

My phone fell into the toilet and I need to fix it

First thing is to ALWAYS remove the battery to prevent electrolysis.

Clean with de-ionized water (distilled) with battery removed.

LET dry thoroughly for a day or more before putting battery back in for trial.

Do not heat the unit to dry more than placing over a furnace register for slow gentle drying.

Fell in salt water, dryed it for 3 days, is displaying "battery is required... powering off" when the battery is in. ALSO " Repair mode, please remove the battery to reboot your phone. Is it a write off?

the fact that it fell in salt water is proberly affecting it, try rincing it in pure clean water and then let it dry out, that might help. water shouldn't affect the phone, but the sault would.

I have a Nokia N90 and it fell in a bucket of water,it submerge for about 6 secs after grabbing it out.I dried it off and imediately run a blow dryer on it,but not getting any display on screen, but it...

The best way to treat a phone after water submersion is to remove the battery immediately and allow it to dry near a radiator or other gentle heat source. Sometimes burying the handset in dry rice will speed up the drying out process.
Be prepared to take it in for repair if the above doesn't work.
If it's insured you should be covered for water damage.

Camera fell in the water for 3 seconds, wont turn on

The best advice is to check with Canon, describe what happened, and take their advice. I think you will do best if it is seawater, or saltwater, to return it for servicing, as salt is deadly to some camera parts, and if you switch on with salt water in, it can cause permanent damage to circuits, and even can create a short between components, particularly the flash circuit. If it is fresh water, and for some reason you don't want to return it, it is best to use a hair dryer on medium or low heat to blow dry as much as possible, with the lens off, and the battery and card compartments also open, and come back to it after about an hour and repeat.Do not heat it to anything more than about skin heat, as evaporation will continue at even room temperature. Do this for most of the day, and leave it for a day or two, or even a week, as open to the air as you can, but in a dust-free environment, preferably in a warmish place, like an airing cupboard, so that all moisture will evaporate, Then try it again with fresh battery. I suspect that if it still won't operate, you could repeat the process, but it is most likely then, that you will have to return it for servicing or repair. I had an Olympus C8080w, and me and the camera were swamped by heavy spray from a wave, and I ran to the local shop, bought some tissues, and dried it immediately. I took it home, zoomed out, dried as much as possible down the lens gap, and left it in warm room. When dried out, some salt crystals were left on the lens barrel on zoom out, but thank the Lord, it still worked, and has not let me down - I did use a damp hanky to try and absorb as much water as possible from the outside, and dilute any surface salt as much as I could. I still use it regularly, but dropping into water is a different matter. - Please post and let us know what happens - and the best of luck

The screen of my blue samsung s860 is black when i turn the camera on, it fell in water and now won't work.

if the device has fallen into water then chances are that the camera is damaged, you could leave it to dry out, but this could be up to a week, don't try to dry it with heat as you could damage the camera further, if it still doesn't work then the LCD has been damaged beyond economical repair and is has to be taken into a repair shop

hope this helps

kind regards
