Hi friends i am using kenwood subwoofer sw-300 its not working from two days, i observer relay triping sound from inside the amp relay omron g5r 2232p-kw 48vdc has continue tripping while power on,

Short circuit protection energizes. Check for any external short circuit with connecting sires to sub woofer. If it found OK, the sub-woofer output amplifier section circuit inside the set is fault. Short circuited component/s. Check and replace them. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

I have a Jensen KS212 and I'm connecting it to a home theatre receiver direct to see if it works but nothing comes out of it. Does this mean the sub is not working or there's not enough power from...

Hi, welcome to FixYa..

Your subwoofer requires a seperate amplifier that has low pass filter in the pre out system, which means it will allow all low frequency signals from the input section of the amplifier/ crossover. Your receiver has combined signals of high, mid and midbass signals that will not be able to drive your subwoofer. That is the main reason why some receivers has "Subwoofer Out" to allow you to use "Active Subwoofer systems" (also known has self powered or has a built in amplifier w/ subwoofer)
For you to use your Subwoofer, it must have a seperate amplifier, connect it to Sub out of your receiver and from there you can hear the difference. Hope this helps.

I purchased a used sony xm-ds1600p5 amp, it turns on, but there's no sound. I opened it and looked around for anything "out of place", and found 3 fried resistors and 3 fried MOSFET...

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be your output drivers- the MOSFETS/IC's fitted for both the channels, Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Now that you have found the damaged components you can change them.

These items can be pruchased from any electronic spares parts shop.

After the job is done before you power please check the following:

Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise like a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation.
You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board, maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias , maybe a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the protect is off then check for short on the speakers.

HOW DO I FIND REPLACEMENT FACE PLATE & REMOTE FOR JENSON MODEL #DV2007

Hello,
Here is where to get a replacement waterproof remote - http://www.jensenmarinedirect.com/jensen-waterproof-wired-remote-control.html With these marine radios the faceplate is usually the first thing to fail from water damage. Not that your is water damaged but because of this finding a used one is impossible on the net. You will have to contact Jensen for to see if they have the faceplate available separately. http://audiovox.com/jensen/ Good luck.
Regards, Tony

Subwoofer has power but will not have sound

If you meant that the subwoofer amplifier has the power in then we need to check the amplifier. If your subwoofer speaker is ok after testing with an 1.5 volt cell then you concentrate if the amplifer has packed up., After testing for fuse, speaker connection, speaker wires. you will have to check if your power amplifier output has failed. Since you have not mentioned the make/model i am not able to pin point but you may open and test for damaged output transistors, components and replace accordingly only if you are competant. Hope I could help. Good day

Sub cutting out

500W x 1 @ 2ohm

How did you "switch the sub from 2ohms to 4 ohms"?

If you have the swr-1222d as listed, your only options are wiring 1 or 4 ohm, as it is a dual 2 ohm voicecoil.

If it was wired @ 1 ohm - you may have already done the damage to your amplifier - as it is not rated @ 1ohm mono.

There are 3 reasons the amplifier will go into protect mode while playing...
Thermal - overheating due to too low impedence.
Ground Loop/Short Circuit - Blown voicecoil, bad amplifier ground, tinsel slap, etc.
Overload - Impedence not within specs.

Disconnect every wire (including RCAs) from the amplifier. Reconnect only power and ground - make a short wire to loop from power terminal to remote terminal.

If the amplifier stays on without turning off - remove the jumper, add the remote wire, and try again.

If it turns off - the problem is internal and needs repair.

Still on? plug in 1 rca, and re-try.... then the other.

Still going??

Now use an Ohm Meter - or Digital multimeter set to ohms 20, and check both voicecoils. They should read 2ohms +/- .5ohm.

If they are OK, wire up the 4ohm load (series the voicecoils) and turn the gain on the amplifier to 1/2.

Retry -

If the amplifier continues to fail at higher volumes - the thermal protection relay has become weakened because of your improper wiring, and will need to be repaired to solve your issue.

My code for my cd player in the car is 2669 the facia only has numbers 1 to 6 how do I type this in? It is on a Ford 6000 CD RDS EON stereo system in my Fiesta

I know that you use numbers 1-4 I believe. Push button 1 2 times, button 2 6 times etc. I reember doing that for some model but can't remember what :-(. Anyway, try that. If no luck, give me make and model and I will do some resarch for you.

INFINITY BASSLINK X BLOWS FUSES

What probably happened was both of the final audio output transistors shorted. This caused a higher than normal drain on the switching transistors on the primary side of the torrid power transformer causing one to short and then blowing the fuse. I replaced both switching transistors and ramped up the current to about 5 amps. I could see the power supply was not working but there was still a short. I traced the short to both audio output transistors. Replaced them and unit is like new. After I found a service manual on this item it was a breeze to find the problem.
