A diagram would help and I can't get anywhere from the Sylvania website. My VHS tape is broken and the tape cassette is hinged open and up against the two back pins. I'm suppose to be looking for the cassette tray release pins and "hand cycle the carriage". I need to see a diagram of all the aforementioned parts.

  • fh875 Mar 05, 2009

O.K. --- I'll try that --- never heard of "Funai"!! Cheers, Val.

  • fh875 Mar 05, 2009

So much for Funai --- manuals only from 2002 and mine is 2000!!

I have a basic diagram but doesn't explain which way the roller moves. I'll have to study my info later so I can remove the cassette and put my TV/VCR back together and hope it still works. If you needed to know how to apply a watercolour wash in painting, then you'd know what it's like to be out of your field!! Cheers.

The load motor usually actuated gears that are oriented vertically and on one side of the tape intake cage. If the unit is apart, it should be obvious where they are.

I don't have a diagram, but did you try the funai site? That is who "made" your television.

Blown fuse

There is a thermal fuse in the circuit between the dryer drive motor, and the dryer timer motor (control). It's physically located near the blower assembly. Sunroof stuck

VW sunroof come with a manual crank tool located inside the sunroof motor assembly behind the cover. Use that to manually crank it back to the stowed position and have it checked for cause of malfunction.

Sunroof stuck open, think the switch maybe bad

I have same problem. Below are a couple of suggestions from LincolnOnLine.com on how to close the sunroof manually. The first relates to a '93 and I'm not sure about the second. Use this info at your own risk. If you get a better answer, PLEASE POST IT HERE FOR ME. Thanks. Mort

Here is the text from my 93 Manual. There is an access panel in the rear centre of the headliner if it is the same as my 93.

Manual Operation

To close the sliding panel manually, remove the roof access hole trim panel located at the rear of the moon roof assembly. Remove the motor and bracket assembly as outlined to expose the splined shaft of the moon roof drive gear box. Using a typical corporate door window regulator crank handle properly set on the splined shaft, crank the moon roof panel closed.

Motor

CAUTION:
It is recommended that the battery ground cable be disconnected when removing or installing the moon roof motor assembly.

Removal and Installation

1. Operate glass panel until rear of glass panel is flush with sheet metal surface.

2. Remove motor access cover.

3. Remove two motor retaining screws.

4. Lower motor away from splined motor gear and disconnect electrical connector.

5. To install, reverse Removal procedure and synchronize motor as outlined under Adjustments.

Good Luck! __________________

Were is the crank position sensor located on a 98 accord lx 2.2 motor?

There is no 2.2L motor in a 1998 Honda Accord.
The Crankshaft Position Sensor for the 2.3L 4-Cyl. engine is located behind the crankshaft pulley on the oil pump assembly.

The starter has been tested as good, but the car wont start, any ideas?

load test battery
check for tight, clean connections at battery
check neutral safety or clutch safety switch
check starter relay
check ignition switch
check engine and chassis grounds,
below is from the autozone.com site. click on red X's to view files

Four types of starter motor are utilized depending upon the vehicle transaxle and assembly plant location. Manual transaxle equipped vehicles utilize a conventional starter motor which consists of a yoke, an armature assembly, an overrunning clutch assembly, a solenoid, a commutator end cover, a brush holder and a pinion drive lever. Automatic transaxle equipped vehicles utilize a reduction type starter motor which has, in addition to the components found on conventional starter motors, a reduction gear and shock absorber assembly.
In the basic circuit, the solenoid windings are energized when the ignition switch is turn to the START position and the clutch start/neutral safety switch is closed. The resulting plunger and shift lever movement causes the pinion to engage the engine flywheel ring gear. This movement also causes the starter solenoid contacts to close.
With the contacts closed, the starter solenoid provides a closed circuit between the battery positive terminal and the starter motor. Because the starter motor is permanently grounded to the engine block, the circuit is complete and cranking occurs as soon as the starter solenoid contacts are closed.
When the engine starts, the pinion is designed to overrun and protect the armature from excessive speed until the ignition switch is released from the START position. With the ignition switch released, a return spring in the solenoid assembly forces the starter solenoid contacts open, breaks the circuit between the battery and the starter motor, and disengages the pinion. To prevent prolonged overrun, the ignition switch should be immediately released upon engine start-up.

My GE downdraft (ZVB36) does not function. I had to unplug it because it make a continuous humming sound. I have looked for a reset button & could not find one.

The crank arm which raises and lowers the hood has jammed most likely against the vertical bearing guide in the center of the box.
Fix is:
a. If the hood is up, support it somehow so it doesn't crash down. Unplug the whole unit.
b. Pull off the box covering the motor and electricals.
c. Pull off the motor/gearbox assembly. Careful here, as this will release the crank arm which may still be under some load, causing the gearbox assembly to rotate on you.
d. Bend everything back into shape.
e. You may need a new crank arm or gearbox if the shaft to the crank arm is bent.
f. Reassemble. This is most easiy done if the hood is held up by someone or something.
