Question about Autoloc KL550 5 Function Keyless Entry W/ Birt

Can't lock or unlock with either romotes

Both locking and unlocking do not work. I can hear a "click" sound coming from somewhere in the dash around the steering wheel. The little light illuminates on the remotes.
Any ideas?

Hi there
did you install yourself or was it done professionally?
on some cars the wires from the unit say they can be hooked up to door locks they can be but sometimes when the car manufacturers make the electronic doors that your unit is attached to the wires are set with a positive charge as a ground if the solenoids in the unit are clicking the problem is you need to add relays to convert the original door wire signal to the new signal you are trying to send to have these relays installed on your car you will need to have it installed by a professional but if you are very good with electronics if you go to your cars brand dealer you can ask for a photocopy of the cars power lock and ignition wiring setup (this will show all factory wires and the type of setting they have IE. 12v grounds (+,-wires) from there you will need 4 4pin relays now each relay is going to adjust all the doors wiring on the vehicle to accept the new signal..........this procedure will take about 2 up to 6hrs to do if not experienced but a professional installer can fix this in 1-2hrs
if you want to attempt this on your own let me know and ill try to guide you threw it
hope i was able to help

My daughters wipers just stopped working on her 2008 Jetta Volkswagen. I noticed when I turn the key on and move the lever up or down I hear a slight clicking sound somewhere around the steering wheel. I'm...

Let's keep it simple check fuses and relays by swapping around the relays in the fuse box. IF THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM . Most of the vehicle'll especially havea multifunction switch operating turn signals wipers headlights. If it goes bad you will hear clicking and grinding in the steering column it's just plastic junk made to go bad. Replacing will require removal of steering wheel and removing wire harness attached to switch which should run down your column if you are not comfortable with this take it to a dealer. Hope this helps

The steering wheel lock pin is probably not falling into place. Try some lock lubricant and jiggle the wheel back and forth a little bit. If that does not do it, you will have to take out the lock tumbler and free-up / lubricate the steering column lock pin mechanism.

Replace rack pinion

He is probably telling you the truth as most cars have around 4 turns lock to lock. The clicking sound you are hearing is the turn indicator switch under the wheel clicking as you go past the fingers that activate the lever to off position. The only thing I would check first is that the steering shaft coupling onto the pinion shaft is tight and the clamp bolt is still there. Otherwise it will be a new/reconditioned rack and pinion box

B******s! It could be that when they broke they tried to get your car going and they triggered the immobiliser and this may need to be reset. On the other hand with many automatics you can only remove the ignition key once the transmission is in 'park' and the steering lock has engaged. I wonder if they may damaged the parking interlock mechanism between the ignition point and the gear selector by messing with the locked steering wheel. Check that the steering lock unlocks OK and that the car is unable to start in any other gear position, try 'neutral'

I am pretty sure that the solenoid for my shifter is dying because I have alot of difficulty getting it out of park and when I press the button on the shifter to release it from park I am hearing a click...

I think that is normal for all cars or some of it, because if your steering wheel is lock, you can not release your shifter to D to R or to N because your car is design with the safety lock for anti-theif. Before you start and drive your car, you need to turn your key to the switch position and unlock the steering wheel by turning or wiggling left and right the steering wheel until you will hear the click then its also automatically unlock your shifter. The click sound is lock or unlock. Maybe you don't know also that every time you get out from you car and toke off your key and accidentally turn a little bit your steering wheel, and also you don't hear or feel the click specially if you are in a hurry, your car is in a safety lock. I hope you get what I mean, OK, Thnx

Key In Ignition Won't Move 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

The steering column sounds locked. Try turning the steering wheel all the way left or right till you hear it unlock or until the key can turn. Note; You must use force to unlock the steering column and don't be scared because it won't break anything.
