Join an old Windows 95 machine to the net wirelessly

IMy wireless network works fine on all my machines except one old laptop running on Windows 95. I need a special adapter for that.

It is said that Belkin (F5D6020) 802.11b will do the trick but I cannot find one in the UK.

(eBy turns up one in Maryland. Theowner is unwilling to ship it.)

Are they still being made?

ANY OF THE WIRELESS CARD FUNCTION IN 802.11B WILL DO THE JOB.
MAKE SURE THE CARD IS NOT A DUAL FUNCTION 802.11B/G TYPE.

Two toshiba laptops, one less than a year old running win7...the other 3 yrs old runnign xp. both worked fine connecting wireless to my router sat. sun the win7 machine said the dns server was not...

Did you press a button (or move a slider-switch) on the WIN7 laptop, to "disable" the wireless adapter?

Can you login to the web-server "inside" the wireless router, and look at the "log-files" that the router keeps of "recent" events (such as connection-attempts from wireless devices), to see if there is any useful information in those logs?

Does the WIN7 laptop connect to _any_ wireless network (Starbucks, university, shopping mall), or does it fail ONLY when connecting to your wireless router?

Have you tried a "factory-reset" on your router, just in case that it might be the problem?

Windows cannot connect to the wireless network

I would remove old cache wireless network connections. Example is when you once connect to a free wireless access at Library or Coffee Shop. Windows save all of these profiles and this will cause problems connecting. Then use Microsoft Wireless Troubleshooting resource:

Good luck

Is this a new device? A lot of newer wireless adaptors come with drivers for NTFS based operating systems such as windows 2k or XP. Windows 98 runs on FAT32. I don't know if this will work. I suggest you upgrade your OS.
