yep 2 instalations running. i dnt kno wat u mean by partitions

  • Barry Parks May 11, 2010

Partitions are the main sections of a hard drive. They are also called volumes or disks. If you open Windows Explorer and look in the left column, you will see a local disk C:. That is the main partition. Look down the list for a second local disk. It may be labeled D:, E: or some other letter, depending on when it was created and what other hardware is installed. If you find the second local disk, expand it and look for a Windows directory. That should be the second installation.

Check that far and let me know what you find.

What do you mean by "2 lots of windows running on my computer"? Do you have 2 installations of Windows? If you do, are they in different partitions?

boot the windows u want and the right click on the my computer and go to properties.
>go to advanced tab
>go to startup and recovery
>make sure that u are logged in the os u want and u can conferim the partition by simply going on run command and typing CMD and check which letter is first(C: or D:)
>go to edit option given below default os and then delete the line where the another partition is listed and save (it will be like default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS for C: drive for D: drive it will be disk0 partition 2).

Deleting updates, freeing space on hard drive

if you are running windows vista, this might help alot, if running xp, it might not, go disk clean up for drive c. to do this, open up my computer, and right click on drive c, and open up properties. click on disk clean up, and a window should show up. if you are running windows vista, its going to ask if from current user, or all users, click all users. after the calculating window, a window that says disk clean up for drive c will show up. click on the tab at the top of that window that says more options, and on the bottom box, which should say system restore and shadow copies, click the clean up button. the longer it takes, the more space its freeing up. Goodluck
