It sounds like you need to adjust your idle screw. you should be able to turn it clockwise 1/2 to 1 full turn to make it idle correctly. let me know if you need any more help with this

My e series 142 spins the chain and idles insanely fast when I have the choke pulled out. Then when I give it throttle it calms down and then I can barely keep it idling. with throttle all the way pulled...

Check air filter- clean or replace, Make sure you have fresh fuel, A new spark while you are giving it a service, Do you know how to tune the saw? Start with basic settings 1 turn on the low and 1 turn on the high And adjust from there, You might have turned the idle up too high. The choke should always be fully in when saw is running. Hope this is a good start

Hi, i have a 1999 husqvarna 254xp... its abit hard to start and never idles more than 3secs.....from doing some looking into , i think maybe the L screw needs adj? if so could u explain in simple terms how...

In simple terms here we go, turn both L screw and H screw fully in until they stop ( clock wise ) now turn the L scew out one and a half turns out, and the H screw one and a quarter turns out, start the saw ans warm up the engine, allow the saw to idle, if need be turn the idle screw in to gain a slightly fast idle, start to turn the L screw in, the revs will start to increse as the mixture leans off, thet will reach a point where the engine then starts to die because it is too len, at this point unscrew the screw quarter turn, check the machine revs up clean, if there is a hesitation unscrew the jet a smaal bit at a time until it revs clean, now adjust the idle screw so the engine idles without the cutting chain rotating around the bar, the H screw should be about right however if it sounds too rich at full throttle srew the jet in a small amount until it sounds right, the maximum rpm should not exceed 13500, this should realy be check with a rev counter, if the engine revs too high there is a fear that it will over heat and seize.

Husqvarna 51 idle seems to struggle, runs OK when I throttle then chokes and dies out as soon as the throttle is released. What can I do?

will it start right back up after it dies? you could use a small screwdriver and turn the idle screw in a little to raise the idle speed that should fix it.

I have a husqvarna 125L gas trimmer and dies after about 5 to 10 min and keeps dying and won't idle, have to keep throttling up

Could be clogged gas cap. Take the cap off and see if you can blow air through it. If no air passes, the trimmer will become vapor locked and wont be able to get enough gas.

Where is the bar oil adjusted from on husqvarna 345

Turn the Hus 345 chain saw upside down, you may see a little Icon of a oil droplet and a + - arrow by the chain. THe adjustment screw is not pictured in any of the standard user manuals,. but it is a small black slot headed screw over a rectangale metal tab by the chain. I believe if you turn it counter-clockwise, it will give you more oil,, It did for me. If you have the bar off, you can start the saw and see it come out the hole, that would verify your oil pump is working. Make sure the holes on the bar are clean also. running the saw at a fast idle for 1 min should oil the chain well enouth that it starts spraying off the end of the bar when you gun the engine.

There are two idle screws one high, and one low. Your high adjustment idle screw needs to be adjusted.

345 husqvarna chain saw will not run

If it idles it is not flooding out as it it most vulnerable to flooding at idle if the stalling is happening as you try to throttle it up it is likely starved for fuel. Start by changing the in tank fuel filter, and the spark plug. good chance that will solve your problem. If it does not Turn the high idle screw out in 1/8 turn increments try running the saw after each adjustment. Keep track of the amount that you turn the screw. you might have to put it back to its original position. Some times adjustment screws will vi berate out of adjustment and other times crud will cause fuel restriction opening the screw allows for a larger port for any restrictions to pass through. After you use the saw for a short time turn screw back in if it starts to stall at idle or you notice increased smoke.
