this is a failure in your light engine
this can cost $500 and up
call sony customer service
1-239-768-7547
tell them that you heard it needs a new light engine and is very expensive, they may decide to do something to help. they will want model #, serial #, and date of purchase. if you don't know date of purchase, make a good guess.

Blue image growing from corner

Understand I risk getting a bad rating from you, but I thought you should know. You have a bad optical block. Sony was supplying the optical block and covering the labor for replacement until June of this year, but that extension has expired. Your best bet is to contact Sony Customer support at 800-222-SONY. They will probably want an authorized tech to come out and evaluate the set. You may be able to get them to cover the part under warranty, but it may take a letter to the customer service executive committee to get that to happen. I am sorry I could not help more.

The screen itself may be damaged. In any case, the set will be exensive to service. If the set is under warranty, it is best to give in the set for service.
