If your DVD burner does not read a disk you should try a few other disk, if it still does not read any disk you should check the connections to make sure no cabe is slack or loose. If the problem still exist please got to the manufacturer website and download drivers for you DVD burner you should also go to www.cnet.com and download and install codec for your DVD burner.
first check your dvd burner if its is detected properly on your cmos. If it is located properly try to re install windows 7 again i've encountered this problem before and i just reinstalled windows 7 and it worked like charm.
If the dvd burner is not detected on cmos try to check the jumper settings for both hard disk and dvd burner one orf the other should not be on the same setting ex. if your disk drive is on master you should set the dvd on slave and vice versa. then redo the first step. hope this helps
is it for a particular disk or all?? assuming for 'all' and with all data cables n jumpers r sitted correctly.... if u r a professional, open it up, with the lens assembly there is a small preset, turn it using a screw driver a little anti-clockwise..clean the lens with clean cotton using isopropyl alcohol.. if not done, replace the lens assembly.. or else, replace the drive with a standby n see.. ..contact ur System Admin/Vendor....
