Re: TV was playing then went out and will not come on.
Could be the fuse is inside of set just fallow the yellow brick road the power cord it is a glass looking tube with silver ends on it Be sure to unplug tv befor you take the back off of it if fuse is ok then you have other problems in set.

I think your problem is with the scart socket . It most likely to be a dry joint on the pin where the sound goes in to the tv. you have to take back cover off the tv and turn the chassis over to do the dry joints if you can do it yourself otherwise get an engineer to do it. Good luck.
yes there's a lose connection of your tv. It needs to re solder.if you know how to solder .,solder the vertical section specially the vertical I but be careful of short circuite coz it may damage your tv set.
