Hi, this is a solder break that's located on the input block. you will have to disassemble and seek out this cold solder and re apply this contact point to the circuit board. these type of separations will occur in units with age. If you are not in tune with electronic circuitry, i recommend to send or transport to your local electronics repair shop for this repair.

Hi!

Have you tried using external speakers? Is the voice coming when you use other video sources like cable box.

Try first unplugging speakers and unit from power for five minutes.

If it has batteries also remove batteries.

Check also the player cable, that is the most common reason for no sound.

Test teh unit with a replacement cable.

If the unit still has no sound with a different cable, this is probably an internal malfunction.

You usually fix the problem by replacing the cable.

I am getting sound from the DVD but no picture. I

I've fought with this for a while and finally figured it out. I recall another piece of hardware that would perform some sort of auto reset when it was unplugged so I tried it and it worked! I don't mean just hitting the power button, I mean crawling down on your hands and knees to follow the power cord from the back of the dvd player to the wall/power strip. Unplug it, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. BAM! All fixed.

TV has sound..no picture Philips DPTV335 was working fine and suddenly picture went out. Still has sound but nothing on screen (volume bars, picture)

This is a projection TV. No picture can have a whole host of causes.
When the TV turns on, you can see background dimly but no picture.
Caused by the picture being muted. Perhaps the video signal is too fast - 1080i on a TV that does not support it might cause this.
Menu works but no image.
Definite picture muting. A bad video cable, no video from the device providing the picture. From the tuner, the signal circuit board needs repair.
No background, no image, no menu
This is a loss of high voltage to the picture tubes. If the picture cannot draw up and down or side to side, this will happen. Definite time for a repairman. Can be pricey if certain parts have blown out.
Most likely is a loss of vertical drive. (up and down drawing of the picture)

Sudden loss of picture, sound comes though ok

It sounds like the exact same problem that my son recently created. The only solution I've determined is to reset the player to it's default settings. Although it took a little while (since the video display was not present), I finally found the right combination of buttons to push on the remote and now the problem is fixed. Insert a disk, then push the following buttons: Stop, Stop, System/Menu, >, >, >, v, v, v, v, v, >, OK

After the above sequence of buttons, the main player screen should reappear on the tv.
