I have Comcast digital voice for my phone provider. I have experienced problems with my phone for the past year, most of which was related to Comcast (6 service calls since July 08). However, yesterday, after the phone rang twice, there was no one on the line. When I hung up, there was no dial tone. I reset the modum and still no dial tone. When the tech came out, he unplugged the phone from the power source, and the dial tone came back. I also repeatedly have dropped calls (about twice a week) and can hear an echo at times. Is it the phone or is it Comcast?

I had this problem too. I popped the battery out, waited 1 minute then put it back in. Unfortunately this clears the memory of all recent calls, etc. but it immediately started working again. So far its only happened once...

Try replacing the phone cable, and check that is well plugged into phone rj11 connector.
If it is not the cable call comcast.
SOURCE: we have had a panasonic
We have this model also, and have exerienced similar problems. Try disconnecting all of the phone lines for that ph number, for a minimum of 30 seconds. Reconnect and the line should be functioning again. It always works for me.
