My garmin 750 gps will not turn on when plugged into power source

If my battery was dead would this prevent my gps from turning on. The last time I used my unit was day before and it read battery-low while plugged into power source.

A dead battery will cause the unit not to turn on, but it should turn on if connected to an external power source like an AC wall charger or DC car charger.

Won't turn on. I put a new battery in but still won't turn on. Also have plug it into the computer and power still won't turn on.

The new battery ships "dead" - or close to it. Allow it to charge over night with the CHARGER (instead of the computer - if you have it) and try again.

Nuvi 750 battery will not hold a charge. Unit works fine if plugged into the auto power. What might the problem be? What is the estimated cost of repair.

Sounds like you just have a dead/bad battery.

You can check to see if your device was included in a recent battery-related recall here:
https://my.garmin.com/rma/recallLanding.faces

If your unit is not included in the recall and you are (or a friend is) handy, you can buy a replacement on the net and replace it yourself for around $25 (US Dollars):

(There are other sources for the battery, I do know if the linked company is trustworthy.)

I'm not sure what Garmin charges for this type of service?

Low battery display comes on when it is turned on then it shuts off its self

If this occurs when running on battery power, then it sounds like you just have a dead/bad battery.

If your GPS works fine when connected to a power source, then leave your GPS plugged in to a power source over-night, and if you still have this problem...

When pluggin to the car charger and turn it on. it's a low battery and it keeps turning off. it doesn't charge. garmin nuvi 750.

the battery is defective and needs to be replaced, if the battery is not any good then it won't work even when plugged to an outside power source, that is how this are set up, the battery is not user servicable, u must send it back to Garmin for replacement.

My garmin will only turn on while it's plugged into the car charger. I have had it plugged into my computer for some time and it won't power on while connected to the computer or while unplugged- I...

Time for a new battery. If you talk to garmin they will want to replace the entire unit. You can buy a battery for about $23 and do it yourself.
Here is on place that sells them but I would also search for others to compare prices and specs.

Dead unit

My Quest2 has a short in it that drains the battery even when it is turned off. But the battery lasts normal 15 to 20 hours when fully charged and unit is on. Whenever the battery is completely dead, I have to place it on the charger for a hour or two before the unit will even start even though it is plugged plugged in. The battery can be replaced by the staff at batteries plus for under $60.00

Had the same problem-try this- leave your nuvi off for about 4 hours. Push the power button to the right(lock position) and then to the left (power on position) and let go. I suspect temperature (getting overheated is the problem. This worked for me.
