Try to restart the iPhone: Press and hold both power button and home button together until iPhone turns off and starts again (Apple logo appear on white screen). Release both buttons when you see the Apple logo. Let the phone boot up. It should be ok. If not,

You can update/restore your iPhone using iTunes installed on a Mac or Windows computer.

Steps to follow:
1. Please turn off the phone.
2. Press and hold the home button and connect the USB charging cable to your phone and to Mac/PC running iTunes.
3. When iTunes connect logo appear on iPhone screen, release the home button.
4. iTunes will detect your phone and prompt you to update/restore your phone.
5. Click on update.
6. Let iTunes download and install iOS update on your phone. It will prompt you once finished.

If the update is failed, iTunes will prompt you to restore (this process will erase all data from your iPhone), select restore and wait to finish.

IPhone 5S screen and digitizer are broken, can I still back it up to my computer?

yes you can, just connect it to the computer. Don't let it update to IOS 8.2, because it will ask you for the code on the iPhone screen.
Then iTunes will backup your phone.
At least I hope you already did backup it at least once.
I don't know what happens when you connect the phone to iTunes for the first time, because that was so long ago.

My iphone keeps saying I need iSO 7.0 how can I get it and for free

Tammy, All Apple updates are for free, so that is one.
When connected to the net with a WiFi router you can follow the next steps. Don't do an upgrade while on cellular, because it will take ages and cost your data limit.
First make a backup of the whole phone, on the computer. Or when you have enough space in the iCloud, backup to the cloud.
If your iPhone is telling, update, you can update, by going to the settings icon. (initially it was on the first screen.) It even will have a little red 1 on top of it. press the settings icon. then scroll down a little to general and then press update. BUT PLEASE. make sure your battery is completely charged or the phone is connected to a power source. When you don't have a WiFi connection, you can use iTunes on the Windows PC or MAC.
Connect the phone to the computer and start iTunes, (if it did not start in the first place)
Then iTunes will tell you, you can update. First let iTunes make a full backup, then tell it can do the update.
It can take up to 15 minutes, but after that the phone should work fine.

If I'm not clear enough, or something goes wrong, please check the Apple support page for the iPhone.

My iphone 3 is not working only the apple sign is coming while charging the phone

1. Turn the iPhone off by holding the button on the top of the iPhone for 10 seconds, until the screen is black.
2. Plug your USB Cable into the back of your computer (the back USB ports can be higher power then your front ones, if your using a laptop, just plug into any one) 3. Open iTunes on your computer, make sure its fully updated (it will ask you automatically to update)
3. Now hold down the Home button on the front of your phone (The button on the front of the iPhone, at the bottom, has a square inside of it, your thumb will fit into the button to press it down)
4. While holding down the home button, plug it into the computer, and keep holding down the home button 5. Eventually you are going to see a connect to iTunes screen on the iPhone display, this may take 30-45 seconds. (A USB Cord with an arrow pointing towards the iTunes Logo)
6. Once you see that screen, let go of the button 7. A Message should pop up in iTunes saying it has detected the iPhone in recovery mode and you must restore to continue 8. Click ok, and there should be a Restore button in the middle of iTunes on your computer 9. Click this and it will say it needs to erase everything and update. You must do this, there may be backup files for your iPhone on your computer, if there are, it will automatically ask you when its done to load those onto your phone.

My IPOD touch is locked and my daughter forgot the passcode. We don't have access to the computer with the original itunes. The IPOD says to connect to itunes. itunes says it cant connect because there...

all you hv to do is go thru the earlier posts with the same problem....anyways here's the solution again...
  1. Verify you have iTunes 7.5 or later. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
  3. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
  4. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPhone. When you reconnect the USB to iPhone, the device should then power on.

Note: If you see the message "Charging... Please Wait" or you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least 10 minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again.ht1808_01.jpg
  5. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
  6. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:
ht1808_02.jpgIf you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPhone and repeat steps 3-6.

If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, it means that iPhone is not receiving power to charge.
