Yes and no. Think of 'platform' as a general header when looking at operating architectures (there are different types) and Vista choices.
Vista choices under the 'platform' 32-bit are:
• Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit
• Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
• Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
• Windows Vista Business 32-bit
• Windows Vista Enterprise 32-bit

Another example of the "64-bit platform" and Vista choices are:

• Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Business 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit Edition

Update your OS to XP service Pack 3 from microsoft.
If your operating system do not have any service Pack(SP) ie minimum SP2 yet, your M/S office 2007 will not function.

Do your Operating system meets the below requirement?

Microsoft Office Basic 2007 requirement:-
CPU: 500 megahertz (MHz) processor or higher

RAM: 256 megabyte (MB) RAM or higher1

HDD: 1.5 gigabyte (GB); a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive.

Drive: CD-ROM or DVD drive

Display: *1024x768 or higher resolution monitor

OS: Microsoft Windows XP with *Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, or later operating system

*Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, 32 bit browser only. Internet functionality requires Internet access (fees may apply).

There are a variety of problems when installing Adobe Acrobat, try using this troubleshooting guide, hopefully it will elimate your problem. First, make sure you computer can handle the program..the minimum requirements are as followed..
* Intel Pentium-class processor * Windows XP Professional or Home Edition with SP1 or SP2, or Tablet PC Edition; Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 (SP2) * 128 MB of RAM * 90 MB of available hard-disk space for the full version * 800 x 600 monitor resolution * Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
And for the Adobe Reader 6.0: * Pentium-class processor * Windows XP Professional, Home, or Tablet PC Edition; Windows Me; Windows 2000 Professional SP2; Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP6;

Can not install windows 7

if you are doing an upgrade from windows vista to windows 7 check first the version of your vista operating system, for example if you are using windows vista home premium 32 bit then the windows 7 CD that you need is windows 7 home premium 32 bit also, cant mix any versions or types of bit. it should be always the same. try also to download the windows upgrade advisory run it and check for programs and applications that you installed or pre-installed in your computer that cant affect the installation, remove those programs and applications that are not compatible with windows 7. just install those back again after.

if you are doing a clean installation of the windows 7
check first if the system requirements for windows 7 installation is applicable to the specification of your computer. if your system is capable the bqack up your files and go ahead with the installation

i hope this helps
Pls rate my resolution thanks!!

Just a tip

If yours is a PC, Windows Vsita 64 bit should recognize 4 GB RAM. Have you tried the 64 bit bootable linux? Try with that. If you see less than 4GB, then you must check your BIOS for some setting which is the setting to share to the graphics memory or some limit.

Won't work with Vista 64 bit

Hello
I am running Windows Vista 64 bit also and finding out that there are a lot of programs that won't run on a 64 bit machine due to the fact they are not supported for 64 bit, listed below is info to your problem,
Photoshop Elements compatibility with Windows Vista This TechNote lists which versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements are compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista.

Photoshop Elements Version Compatible with Windows Vista (32-bit)? 6.0 Yes 5.0 Yes

Note: You must download the Photoshop Elements 5.0.2 update to ensure compatibility with Windows Vista.

Note: For the versions of Photoshop Elements that are compatible with Windows Vista, the 64-bit editions of Vista are not supported. Adobe Technical Support can assist you with the features of Photoshop Elements and with issues that also occur in supported operating systems. Technical Support cannot, however, assist you with issues that occur only on the 64-bit editions of Windows Vista. Instead, you can use the following support options on the Adobe website:

  • The Support Knowledgebase, which contains solutions for issues that occur on supported operating systems. Access this resource at www.adobe.com/support/photoshopelements.
