Can you check in the my computer window if you have a camera icon when the camera is connected ? if so you can just double click on that and the folder opens to show you the actual photos taken.

try doing a system restore to yesterday and then try installing the disk again.

You can do the restore from control panel and inside "Performance and Maintenance"

Please let me know it this still doesn't work and we can go from there in finding a way.

thanks

Hi,

Do you have a memory card reader or a memory card slot on your laptop or Desktop PC? If so, remove the memory card on your camera and then hook it to the slot on your computer.

It should be detected and then you can copy your files from the card to the computer.

If you still have problems, please post back.

Switched to MAC - have EOS40D and SX100 - will not download SX100

Yes, you need to install the SX100 driver software as well. I wouldn't overwrite older versions of the Canon software, though, so do a selective install if you can.

Can no longer download pics from a430 to computor

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headache of these software problems? Please see the following post, as it outlines a much easier, faster, and less error prone alternative way to download your photos:

EOS Utility does not recoganize Canon Rebel Xti

I believe there are 2 modes of usb transfer that you can pick in the camera. They are set somewhere in the menu in the options. If you go through the menus thoroughly you'll find it. One option is for connecting the camera directly to a printer and the other is for computer transfer (there might also be an Auto setting but I don't remember for sure). Make sure that setting is set for computer transfer. If that doesn't fix your problem, re-install or update EOS Utility / ZoomBrowser.

EOS Utility does not Recoganize Camera

I am not sure about this matter but it seems there is a problem with your new computer. it might not recognize the usb cable.
try to plug your camera in another USB port and try again.

Screen resolution not sufficient to install ver.30.0 software.

I had the same issue with my Netbook. In order to get the software onto my netbook I had to use an external monitor. I set up my HD monitor as the main monitor through the graphics driver. I set the main monitor from notebook to monitor. Then I installed the package and set the main screen back to notebook. I can use the EOS Utility which allows my to download my raw images and remotely control my camera, but I cannot run DPP. I hope this is of help
